hello everyone! i decided to make a new page where i tell you what i've been thinking about or doing. let's see...today, i've made this page. and i made some pretty funny animation in computer science I today. it was a dog jumping. then one dog turned into twelve stacked dogs, who then danced. then they were stacked again (in three rows of four columns). the top left dog then just fell off the top, spiralling down past the other dogs. when he hit the ground, the top right dog fell, too! he spiralled off the screen, to the right. anyway, it's more of a visual thing... i can't explain it. it was very funny and cool, though. :o) (also, i'm easily amused.)

hello, again! i've been thinking about somethings from tv recently... here's what i've noticed:
so there's this commercial on tv for some kind of hair replacement pill... i saw this yesterday. the deal is it's ONLY for men, i guess. i'm wondering who would want to take it! something that women can't take. also, it said that pregnant women can't even touch the pill, if broken open! why would you want to take some pill internally that a pregnant woman can't even touch?! what's scarier than that?! not something i'd recommend, guys! no clue what i'm talking about? check out Propecia online!!

to follow up on what i wrote on 5/9/98, i have another comment on TV advertisments. so
have you seen this semi-new commercial for Sprite with Grant Hill? the whole thing is
him just holding a Sprite can and saying all kinds of stuff about Sprite. and it’s supposed
to be mocking all other soft drink commercials for having stars do their commercials. and
as he’s saying all these things, there’s a little almost cartoonish image of himself at the
bottom of the screen. for each thing he says about Sprite, more little cash bags and dollar
bills pile around this little cartoonish Grant Hill and a cash register sound is made. so i see
their point and everything: don’t believe an actor and buy a product just because he or she
says it’s good. he/she is being paid to tell you these things, whether he/she really
believes them or not. the thing that gets me about that commercial: i want to know how
much Grant Hill was paid to do it!

the internet is amazing, isn't it? well, i like it very much! :o) anyway, what i'm thinking is that i should do a little extra to help out those of you who are currently making your own websites. (and do something to return the favor to all those cool sites that i've gotten all this animation from, for allowing people to take their stuff! i really appreciate that!) so i want to make a page of the urls of sites that i found really beneficial in making my site. i think it's the least i can do! people email me sometimes with specific questions, and that's fine. between a friend and i, we can usually come up with an answer. but for those of you just looking for cool stuff, i'll be working on it! in the meantime, i really don't care if you steal from me. hey, i had to steal it myself! though i want one very badly, i don't have a scanner. and i also don't have any programs for which to make animation, though i'd really like to have those, too! so anyway, none of the stuff here is original except the writing (unless they're quotes from someone/somewhere else) and that R.E.M. card that i have on my homepage. please don't steal that! it's means a lot to me! (but, to be honest, i won't ever find out if you do take it...unless i know you! so leave it alone!) :o) but ANYWAY, so look for that page to come soon!

ha-ha! silly valerie! i realized late last night that this isn't email or something! i can type in italics and not have to use the *'s to show the stressing of a certain word. so i'm going to go through and change all of that! let me know if i miss anything! thanks! this is when one of those: "geez! first time working with HTML, val? 'cause it would seem that way!" self-questions is used! silly girl... ;o)

hello, again!! both of my sisters sent me wonderful gifts today. one sent me a (belated, though that was no fault of her own) electronic greeting card wishing me a speedy recovery. (i had four wisdom teeth--three of which were impacted--removed last week wednesday.) my other sister sent home a present she found for me. if you've read my "valerieisms," then you know how i liked batty, the beanie baby. anyway, she found him and sent me one! thanks, girls. :o)
heeeeeeeeeeerrrre's Batty!

hello. i just thought i should let you know that i'll be doing some major renovations here at my website! i have no idea when i'll be finished...or if i'll be finished! ;o) i ran out of space at this one, so i began a new one. there's not really anything there yet, but this is it! i don't even know for sure at this time what will be different and what will be the same! i only know that i'm adding onto my "simpsons" stuff and that i'm adding a "mystery science theater 3000" page, a classic tv page, and, eventually, an "empire records" page.

oh, man...it's taken me days, but i've finally completed my Tori Amos page! (well, mostly completed...i'll still add pictures and sound files as i find them.) my recent Tori kick has been brought on by my having seen tori in minnesota just last friday! though i'm a little disappointed because i'd have liked to see her without the band, it was still an excellent show. i'm gonna make a page (eventually!) about the concert with a set list, my own review of the show, etc. anyway, so i've done a lot of work. i seem to have kinda abandoned my "new homepage design!" idea. i just got so into doing this tori stuff...i got side-tracked. but i have the files currently in progress. so hopefully, one of these days... then i get to begin work on my R.E.M. and They Might Be Giants pages. i want to do to them what i did to Tori's page. (with the song quotes as the individual page links, complete lyrics for all the albums, and lyric/realaudio links to all the songs directly from the album & track list pages. geez, doing that with R.E.M.'s 8 billion albums should be enough to make me crazy!) ;o) anyway, so i guess that's it for now. hey, what's cooler than tori, eh? :o)

*phew!* man, it's been a while since i've written anything in here, eh? well, i feel i should explain why it seems i've just abandoned my site. i began college on sept. 2. i began work a few days prior to that. i work a lot, but i'm hoping my hours will be cut down... so i get home from school, go to work, come home, do my homework, and try to get some sleep. then it starts over. i barely get the time to check my e-mail anymore a lot of times! so anyway, i apologize for neglecting my site. i do love working on it, i just really don't have the time anymore! but there are still lots of things i'm trying to get done, whenever i find a bit of free time. here are some of the things i can think of off the top of my head that i'd like to accomplish sooner or later (hopefully sooner) here at the valerie gallery:

so in keeping with my previously stated opinions, i thought this was the funniest thing i've seen in a while!
