Cameron's Night to Remember
TITANIC WINS 11 OSCARS!!!!
Celine Dion wore the famous replica of TITANIC's "Heart of the Ocean" diamond necklace for her performance of Original Song Oscar winner "My Heart Will Go On."
Titanic star Kate Winslet, in an emerald green Alexander McQueen for Givenchy, chose the designer specifically, "because he's a funky designer who knows how to dress women." A special bonus: the emerald hue matched her eyes: "Somebody just told me [that], but I didn't realize it when I picked it."
From E Online's Oscar Coverage:In the cleavage wars, Kate Winslet (green scoop-neck dress over a lacy green bodice), Sharon Stone (loose white blouse open down to there) and Madonna (undone to her navel and loosely laced after that) were all contenders, but Susan Sarandon made the biggest push.
Ship Shape... "My Heart Will Go On" is a fitting theme for this year's show, though we still don't know exactly what the title of this Oscar-winning song means. But we do know that going on is what this year's show did best. It went on and on and on... In the end, it was half hour longer than Titanic--and almost as wet.
Going Down with the Show... "I don't know about you, but I'm having a really great time," said James Cameron when he won the Best Director award. Well, thanks for worrying about us, Jimbo, but no, not really.
The pomposity was palpable a few minutes later, when accepting for Best Picture, he called for 15 seconds of silence for the Titanic victims. Gee, we were hoping he'd make his entire speech a moment of silence.
