Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson



Jack Dawson is an American from Wisconsin, a lanky drifter who moves from place to place on tramp steamers and such. His clothes are rumpled and poor looking. He is an artist, and has adopted the bohemian style of the art scene in Paris. He is also very self-possessed and sure-footed for a twenty year old, having lived on his own since the age of fifteen.





Rose DeWitt Bukater, the stunning 17 year old fiance of Cal Hockley. Rose is rebellious, spunky, and full of fire. But the grip that her mother and society has placed on her is holding the young Rose back and the Titanic served as the "slave ship" that was taking her back to America in chains. Rose is from an upper class family and was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, however, she was screaming.

Caledon "Cal" Hockley, is the 30 year old heir to a wealthy Pittsburgh steel family. Cal who is engaged to be married to the lovely Rose, is powerful on charm and great on arrogance. "Cal is obsessed with proper appearances. He never allows himself to lose control for very long, but when he does, it's explosive," says Cameron. "Every decision Cal makes is with the intent to mine the approval of his social set," says Zane.




Ruth DeWitt Bukater, society matron and mother of Rose. Ruth is an established matriarch of Philadelphia society whose husband has left her with nothing but bad debts. Ruth has taken it upon herself to see that Rose marry into a wealthy family in order to "ensure their survival." Ruth is an intolerant snobbish woman who doesn't believe in mixing with the "other classes."

Margaret "Molly" Brown was a pariah to the upper class. The curse of "new money" by her Denver tycoon husband. It wasn't until after the disaster, when tales of her heroism spread, that she joined the circles to which she aspired. Molly was a strong feminist of a woman. A take charge kind of gal with a strong and often stubborn head on her shoulders. Molly didn't discriminate against anyone including the lower classes.





Captain Smith respectfully and affectionately known as 'E.J.' to passengers and crew alike, was a natural born leader. He radiated authority and confidence wherever he went. It was customary of Smith to take the White Star Liners on their maiden voyages. Titanic was to be his final voyage before retirement so that he could spend more time with his wife and daughter. Admirably cool, Captain Smith was a quiet kind of man with an asture attitude and love for the sea.

Harland and Wolff's Master Shipbuilder Thomas Andrews, a 39 year old Irish man with a reputation as a perfectionist. "Andrews was obsessed with the ship and was constantly taking notes about things that could be corrected or improved, no matter how big or how small," explains Garber of his character.




J. Bruce Ismay, the Managing Director of the White Star Line. If ever there was a scapegoat in the Titanic disaster it was Ismay. Ismay was deemed a disgraceful man for jumping into one of the lifeboats and saving his own life while that of over 1,500 were left to perish. Ismay was intent on making the White Star Line ships the biggest and most luxuriest ships ever built. Even if that meant compromising on safety.

Fabrizio de Rossi, Jack's young Italian friend. Fabrizio, who wins the attention of beautiful Norwegian immigrant Helga Dahl, was looking forward to going to America with Jack.




Spicer Lovejoy, Cal's devious right hand man. Lovejoy was a suspicious character. Quick to defend Cal in any situation and dedicated to following Cal's orders, Lovejoy had a knack for showing up in the wrong place at the wrong time as far as Jack and Rose were concerned.

Gloria Stewart as Rose Calvert



Rose Calvert 83 years later. A lot of Rose's rebelliousness, spunk and fire still remain from the days we saw her on board Titanic. And for the first time in 83 years, Rose is finally telling her story about that maiden voyage, and most of all, about her love affair with a man named Jack Dawson.





Brock Lovett is the treasure hunting explorer looking for an exquisite necklace called The Heart of the Ocean, which he is sure went down with the Titanic. Brock and his crew search high and low for the necklace but of course, they do not find it. Instead, what they do find is Rose, 83 years later, who is the only key to solving the mystery of the infamous necklace.

Suzy Amis as Lizzy Calvert



Lizzy Calvert is Rose's grandaughter. Lizzy is very protective of her 100 year old grandmother and is accompanying her on her trip aboard the Keldysh out to the site where Titanic sank 86 years ago.
