What this essay is really about is a theory that I've gotten recently after seeing some interesting movies from different time periods. I believe that each decade has one film that perectly summarizes the feeling of those time periods. Now it could be argued that certain decades have more then one film that reflects it. But while I feel that each decade defenietly had more then one idea behind it, the films that stand out for each decade did not only reflct it, but help mold it in it's own image. The rebellion and confusion of Easy Rider for the 60's, the ultimate fusion of style over substance that was Saturday Night Fever for the 70's, and the glorified yuppieism of The Big Chill. Now, since I'm 22 (although you wouldn't be able to tell it from my picture I have up at Back to main page
