Christina Ricci-Layla
Anjelica Houston-Janet Brown
Ben Gazzara-Jimmy Brown
Mickey Rourke-Bookie
In this movie he plays one of the more insecure characters I've
seen all year, named Billy Brown. Now Billy has been in prison for the
past tenyears, due to reasons too complicated to explain here. But now
he's out which means that he's going to have to go back home like he's
promised his mom and dad. But this means that he has to make good on
all the promises he made that he in fact wasn't in jail, but instead had
a nice job and was now married to a nice woman. So he kidnaps a young
woman and takes her to his parents house to meet, where all the real
funny stuff happens.
With Gallo writing, directing, editing, producing, starring, ect.
this is defenietly his film, in every shape and form. It has a few
problems with it (namely, it uses just about every independent film
cliche in the book) but it is still a very good first effort. Plus,
with this and The Opposite of Sex Christina Ricci is turing into one of
the best young sctresses out there.
