Liam Neeson-Oskar Schindler
Ralph Fiennes-Armon Goeth
Ben Kingsley-Itzhak Stern
Embeth Davidtz-Helen Hirsch
Caroline Goodall-Emilie Schindler
Our story is about a man who saves hundreds of lifes during the horrible display of human nature we called the Holocaust. It is never explained what exactly drove him to do this, but we can only assume that what he did he did also by human nature. A story of hope and redemption and ultimatly savior.
Oskar Schindler, played superbly by the bitish actor Liam Neeson, is a complicated man. He is a heavy drinker, a womanizer, and a greddy man. He gets workers from a Polish concentration camp run by a man named Armon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes, also a great british actor) because they are cheap labor. But through impulses he can't even understand he feels sympathy for these Jews and ends up saving them from the Nazis. He is a bad man who turned god for reasons that Spielberg could never hope to fully explain, and thankfully never tries.
At 3 hours and 14 minutes it may seem a little long, but once you start watching it it seems too short. Worth renting, and worth owning. My favorite film of all time and a movie that will go down in history.
