Finally, after long last, it's the feel good dead-prostitute movie of the winter. Of course, I'm kidding (us witty critics, who knows what we'll come up with next!). This is actually a dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark comedy. So dark, I hestitate to call it a comedy. But even when it's not intentionally funny, the ludicrously dark violence of the whole situation will have you chuckling just to avoid the stress of the whole thing. But it is still funny even when it tries to be, and that's the devilishly well kept secret of the whole thing. It's in on the joke too.

We have a guy named Kyle who's getting married to an overbearing bitch in a very short amount of time. Now, like all guys do, his friends decide to throw him one hell of bachelor party, including a high priced hooker to show this guy what he's about to lose. But when she's providing Micheal (Jeremy Piven of the unjustly overlooked ABC TV series "Cupid") with her talent she is acciedntly killed. The scene is so disturbing, let's just hope Jeremy's mother didn't see it. Then a security gaurd for the hotel they're staying at hears the noise and goes up to investigate. This of course means that they have to kill him too, which they promptly do. Now with two minced up dead bodies on their trunk they head out to the dessert to bury it. But there would be no movie unless more bad stuff happens...

One of the most un-hollywood movies to come out of Hollywood in a long time, and I mean that as a compliment. It disturbing and entertaining at the same time. Christain Slater, Jon Faverau, Jeremy Piven, and Daniel Stern are wonderful in their roles, and Cameron Diaz is just the next big thing waiting for the big project to come along. Very Bad Things is smart, funny, and horribly tantalizing.

Just don't take your parents.
