The Best and The Worst

Now it is time here at Syd's Haunts to rate the best and the worse actors/actresses in what else but some of the best (and worse) horror/suspence thrillers...

First I will start out by listing in order from best on down my favorite 10 horror movies.

  1. Scream (both 1 and 2)
  2. Halloween
  3. The Exorcist
  4. The Evi Dead
  5. Night of the Living Dead
  6. Friday the 13th part 2
  7. I Know What You Did Last Summer
  8. Wishmaster
  9. Hellraiser
  10. Nightmare on Elm Street

Besides the first 2 movies named the rest are in no particular order.

Favorite Actresses

Neve Campbell is by far my favorite slasher flick actress. Her portrayal of Sidney Prescott in Scream and Scream2 is far above that of her fellow Scream Queens. She brought innocents yet cunning to her role and proved to ghostface that she wasn't like those girls in the horror movies she found so insulting.

Jamie Lee Curtis very brave, and smart yet with a touch innocents. She brings reality and intelligence to her roles and does not portray one of thoseplease don't get me mister monster brainless wonders like in most of the horror flicks of the 80's

Amy Steel Among the above mentioned horror movies heroines Amy Steel from Friday the 13th part 2 is another one of my personal favorites. She portrays Ginny and knows all the right moves in her flightand fight with the one and only Jason. She takes her child psychology and puts it to use in the final battle and out wits the would be killer.

The Worst Actresses

Dana Kimmel Do the words oh please mean anything!!! Dana's portrayal of Chris in Friday the 13th Part 3 was by far(in my opinion) the WORST acting job and most nonconvincing of any other actress in this field. She should really think of investing some of the money she made off that film and think of going back to acting school. Dana really gives new meaning to the word brainless wonder!!!

Darcy DeMoss another one ofJason's girls that I found revolting!!! Darcy plays anympho ding bat in Friday the 13th part 6 and is another fine example of why the series started to slip away from good horror to down right cheesey...Darcy's sexual abilities preceded far above that of her acting abilities, all of which becomes blatenly apparent (in my opinion) in this role in a once great horror movie sequel.

Tracie Savage I am not sure if there is really a trend here or do I just dislike the women of Friday the 13th. Here is another prime example of one who did nothing for her role. If that is what they were shooting for the got a double dose (or more) in part 3 3-D.Just another reason to be completely turned off by the series in a hole...BAD ACTING..Boy was I glad to see Tracie lose her life in this movie but it was not soon enough for me. Chalk one up for Jason on that one.

All Time Favorite Monsters/Killers

Ghostface (Scream) what else can I say Ghostface is the man. He was by far a truely scary killer. He may have been a bit clumpsy at times but that just made him more realistic. The scary part was you knew he wasn't a monster that would keep coming back from the dead but he was a force still to be reckoned with. Chilling reality!!!

Micheal Myers Mikie could be considered a monster now since he has been killed of sooo many times and still keeps coming back to claim more victums but nether the less he is still a great all time horror monster. I think for me the thing that makes him so frightening is that he is so confident that he is going to get you he doesn't even need to run for you . No matter where you go or where you hide he wil find you.Michael knows all.

Freddy Krugger Freddy another monster yet due to the originality of it all he is terrifying for completely different reasons. He can only get you when you are engaged in a well needed function...sleep. Think about it you can avoid going to Haddonfield of Crystal Lake but you can't avoid sleep.

The Worst Monsters/Killers

Chuckie Oh no it's a killer doll...run...o.k now that I got that out of my system. The concept was good, the doll not at all... I will admit I didn't mind the first of the trilogy of this movie but in my opinion it should have stayed a one hit wonder. I never evened flinched during the duration of the fist one and theothers where a complete waste of time. I was even told recently that they are coming out with a 4th movie to add to the trash list (rumor at best). Well lets hope someone comes to their scenses and stops the maddness and finnally puts that doll where it belongs a garage sale...

Candyman Candyman..Candyman...Candyman oh gee there is a black man with a funky jacket and a hook behind me....now now don't get me started...the story line was unique and the actor who portrayed him was good and that's it!!! What else can Isay Candyman?

Jason I'm not going to say much here except for the fact that I feel they took a great moster and went to hell with it...Jason was scary to me in part 2 at best and I may even say I liked him in part 3 and6. But this has gone way too far..

My Personal Favorite Vampire

I have always liked vampire movies I wouldn't say I a crazy nuts for them but I had to make a personal spotlight on my all time faorite vampire...Lestat (Interview with a Vampire)....Tom Cruise

Lestat was the greatest, sexy, visious, all around different vampire I have ever seen on film. He did a fantastic job of Anne Rices' character Lestat and all I can say is that man could bite me on the neck any day of the week. Vampires have always been appealling to me but in this case he was an out right turn-on....

Well thank you for visiting my best and worse page I will be updating it and changing it from time to time so make sure you stop back again sometime and see how I am praising or NOT....
