The discusion this time around .....

Ouija The Mystifing Oracle

Ouija boards (prononced Wee-Jaa) have been around since 1890 and boards of all sorts have been produced until 1950 with the William Fuld version still found in stores today...Why the big following and is it really just a toy or some porthole to another dimension?

I myself have owned many Ouija boards over the years and have had many interesting (for lack of a better word) experiences on them as well. I have for years tried to prove or disprove (taking both sides of the coin) their magic or their effects on us and our minds... this has been the debate of many groups over the years I will call them Skeptics and Spiritualist for this discusion.

The Skeptics see that it is not magical at all simply our subconscious mind taking over so to speak and controlling the entire process. Something they like to call ideomotor response. This is the response they also claim is what is behind the "magic" of automatic writings as well. They believe that while we are on the board it opens up our subconscious and makes us able to control the board without even realizing it....

As far as the spiritalist are concerned they are devided in their theories...One one had many of them feel that it is entities that we are talking to non harmful earth bound spirits that we channel through this operation of the game and that there is nothing wrong with it. They feel simply that these are spirits that have a purpose and need to tell us something. The other half of this selective groung feels that this is and evil practice and that we are opening ourselves up to demons or "evil spirits" and the practice of such could cause great harm.

I hate to omit this but I would have to agree with e later part of these individuals... I feel that, after much research on my part, practicing the use of such devices espcially practiced by those whom do not understand the forces involved could envoke such "bad" entities with dangerous outcomes... But this is the type of matter that you have to either believe....or not...like I said in the beggining is it a toy or a porthole....You be the judge...

the directions for operating the Ouija are simple (as far as the game box tells you) You and another person preferable a man and a woman sit with theit knees touching and place the board betweeen them. They then place the planchette on the top of the board with their fingers lightly touching it. One person should ask a question at a time as not to confuse the "spirit" and keep the questions in a non-joking form and simple...

I would like to add that the use of drugs or alcohol is not recommended when using the board. Altering your own state of being could be harmful during these sessions seeing that the "spirit" travels through your body in order to conduct the session. And never play alone... I know that I am begging to sound like the movie Whitchboard but it's true and I have done my own research in this area and everything I have come across explains that using alone can allow you to "open" yourself up to whom ever you are contacting...So if you decided that you'd like to try this just play it safe. Never dis-believe something you can not prove!!!!! 1
