just looked at your Jim Carrey website and wanted to let you know I thought
it was great! I work in Burlington, VT, as the manager of a camera
store, and we printed hundreds of rolls "Irene" while they were in the
area. We didn't get to meet Jim, but Renee came into our store about
3 times, even bringing her dog once, and she was incredibly nice and absolutely
down to earth. (and very funny, too!) I also became friends with
Glenn Watson, the official photographer, and went to lunch with the crew
one day and the "wrap party" at the end of filming. We
met a lot of the crew and with the exception of one person (who everyone
who deals with the movie doesn't like, either!), found them all to be very
nice. I watched the filming one day and the security people were
quite respectful to everyone. The only thing even remotely nasty
was one security guard saying, "ma'am, you need to stop doing that", after
this woman next to me was screaming Jim's name in betweeen takes.
In talking to a Vermont state trooper, I found that it was more the Vermont
attitude that was a problem. He said, "you know, people lost power
for a week during the ice storm (in 1997) and didn't complain. With
this movie, you ask them to wait for 20 minutes and they pitch a fit!"
He said he couldn't believe the reactions of some residents to just a little
inconvenience.My
entire staff and I are looking forward to the release, as we've basically
seen the entire movie in still shots! I plan to keep checking back

My name is Paul and first of all I'd like to thank "Jimmy The Genius" to give the chance of saying my opinion about Jim Carrey. I'm not a great Jim's fan, but I'm starting to appreciate him. I have seen almost all his films and I must say...admit that he's a natural actor. The only thing that I don't like about him is the way..the face that he shows in public. Yes, I understand that he wants to be funny in public and he wants always to show that he is happy and something like that, but, sometimes he risks to be too false. It seems that he never stops acting, especially on TV shows. I know that famous people want always to show the best side of their character, but I think that Jim is not always spontaneous. And I can't stand that. I agree that he wants to be funny, but sometimes is too much. He should give fans the opportunity to catch something more about his personality. Instead it seems that he wants to hide himself behind a funny mask all the time. It's not right of him. Especially because he says that he doesn't want to do the same things over and over again. But doing always funny things, it doesn't help him. I mean people can always think that he is a comic and nothing more. So, he isn't considered seriously when he acts in a dramatic role. I'm an Italian Jim Carrey's fan and I'd like to say that even if I understand
that Jim's obviously trying to expand his acting range into films more
serious than Dumb and Dumber or Ace Ventura, I understand that if he played
Ace for other 2 or 3 times people would get bother with him, but I don't
understand why Jim wants to expand into the realm of the ordinary. The
ability to make people laugh is unique, it's just something you're born
with or not...and Jim born with it, and this is his mission in life. We'll
remember him for it. I do not really know why he wants to abdicate
when he's the only actor of talent in the Hollywood's firmament. |
