How can we create a balloon powered car capable of traveling one meter on the air supplied to the balloon?
Materials:
Two small balloons
Two flexible straws
Duck Tape
One Lego board (1cm X 9cm)
Two small Lego wheels and axles
Procedure:
1. Gather necessary materials
2. Attach the two wheels to each end of the Lego board
3. Attach one balloon to the short end of the flexible straw
4. Repeat step 3 for the other balloon and straw
5. Test the balloons by inflating them through the straw, and listen for the sound of escaping air
6. If air is leaking, apply more tape to stop the leak
7. Securely tape the both straws together lengthwise, so the balloon ends of the straws are together
8. Firmly tape the balloon and straw assembly along the top and parallel to the Lego board.
Refine & Redesign:
To improve this design for future, we would:
Decrease the amount of tape by using a narrower strip of tape when mounting the balloons and straws
