The "Unsinkable" Molly Brown

Margaret "Molly" Brown is perhaps one of the most famous passengers of that time. Molly was on a grand tour of the "Old World" and had been enjoying the sights. She considered herself lucky to have gotten a ticket on Titanic because of a sick relative in AMerica cutting her travels short. She also boarded on the ship in Cherbourg. History has it that Molly boarded lifeboat No. 6(capacity was 65) but was only loaded with 24 women and two men. Brown argued with Quartermaster Hichens, who refused to return to the wreck to pick up more passengers because he feared they would swamp the boat. She even threatened to throw hoim over board after seeing a flare from a distant ship, he said it was a shooting star. Molly gathered the women on the boat and had them all row to safety. That is how she became known as the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown.
