A Few Brief Facts about the Author

I am a science-fiction writer who works in the computer field. Hopefully I'll be a professional writer some day. I am also the early-fifties resident of a bachelor pad in Raleigh, NC; capital of North Carolina and one apex of the world-famous Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Research Triangle, the Silicon Valley of the South.

A native of Nashville, TN, I lived in Atlanta from the age of three, not counting out-of-state college, until I moved to Memphis to take a contract computer job on the notorious "Y2K Problem" in the spring of 1999. Having saved the world from disaster (with a little help from thousands of other computer professionals all around the world), I moved from Memphis to Raleigh in the fall of 2000 to take my current job. I earned a BA in History from Davidson College in Davidson, NC and an MA in Journalism from the Henry Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia at Athens, GA. However, like many refugees from the liberal arts, I now work in the computer field, for a municipal government agency.

In my spare time, I like to work on my creative writing projects, visit with my nephews and nieces, surf the Internet, celebrate Jewish religious holidays, and watch the big and small screen.

In a previous version of this web page, I described myself as being "celibate by choice." That was a stage I was going through. It was healthy for a couple of years, but now it's over. I'd like a relationship with the right woman. She has to be between 35 and 55, likeable, witty, fond of intelligent conversation, share many of my interests and attitudes, and be willing to accept me for what I am. I'm willing to do the same for her.
