CAGED HEAT 2: STRIPPED OF FREEDOM
PLOT-Female CIA agent goes undercover into the world's worst prison to rescue a kidnapped princess.
VIOLENCE-Whippings, shooting, and several cat-fights. Not a whole lot of blood, though.
SEX/NUDITY-Where would a movie like this be without shower scenes full of naked inmates? Yep. Also, there's two strip scenes and a bit of warden/prisoner sex.
WHY I LIKED IT-Although this movie has that "Andy Sidaris" look and feel, it still isn't as good as the 1974 original. After all, Jewel Shepard has the lone task of making up for the absence of such stars as Barbara Steele, Erica "Vixen" Gavin, and Desiree (from part one). However, Jewel fans shouldn't be without this movie, as it is one of the few films where she's got top billing. She's a superior actress, and that alone makes this one of the best women-in-prison movies out there. The shot of her popping out of the water Rambo-style with a machine gun is awesome.
DOWNSIDE-As is common with these type of movies, the stuff you see on the cover isn't in the movie. Namely, the photos of Jewel wearing an extremely revealing torn-up prison gown are nowhere to be seen in the film.
MEMORABLE SCENES-When Jewel first arrives to the prison, they of course make her strip off all her clothes. I tell you, the look of defiance on her face is alone worth a few million. Like, "Yeah, fuck you, here's my bra you son of a bitch".It absolutely nails the character, the entire movie, and probably what Jewel truly felt like on the set.
NOTES-This movie was directed by Cirio H. Santiago, who is comparable to Andy Sidaris and has made numerous films. My two favorites are ANGEL FIST and TNT JACKSON, both of which feature topless kung-fu fighting.
