CANNIBAL FEROX (aka MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY)
PLOT-After seeing one of their own tortured by an American drug dealer, a tribe of cannibals fight back, terrorizing a small group of researchers in the Amazon jungle.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT-I had the good fortune of seeing a midnight screening of this movie, surrounded by friends (and some vocal horror fans). Had I watched it alone, I may have found the dull pace, endless shots of monkeys (???), and awful music tedious. Plus, there were over 5 scenes of real animal deaths (which is why it got banned in some countries) that weren't exactly appealing.But, unlike CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, this movie has very poor special effects, which make the gory parts laughable. There are still some shocking scenes though. If you're looking for some gross-out fun with your pals, it's hard to beat this one.
MEMORABLE SCENES-A cannibal ties the villain to a post, chops off his dick, and eats it. I was among the many audience members who stood up and cheered when this happened. Others, however, may enjoy the brain-eating or even the girl hung by hooks through her breasts. Just depends.
NOTES-The version we watched had a GRINDHOUSE RELEASING logo in front of it, and featured the trailer for the movie also. I'm pretty sure it was the full, uncut version that the company offers on laserdisc.
