MORGANA (a.k.a. BLONDE HEAVEN) PLOT-A modeling agency/escort service is actually run by vampires. VIOLENCE-The vampires bite people, but I don't remember seeing anything particularly bloody or violent. SEX/NUDITY-Very tame, very soft. However, the main characters are shown naked & having sex several times. Nothing too racy or graphic though. WHAT WAS GOOD ABOUT IT-I saw the cover of this movie, immediately noticed Julie Strain's name & face, and rented it without a second thought. She is great in this, just like in every movie they put her in. But the biggest treat of all for me was seeing another of my favorite actresses, Michelle Bauer, in the same movie with her! Unfortunately, the two never shared a scene. You know how everybody made a big deal over the movie "Heat" a few years back because it was the first time Rober DeNiro and Al Pacino acted together in the same scene? Well, for me, that's what it'd be like to see Julie and Michelle together. They are both so incredible and talented. To top it off, the film was directed by Dave DeCoteau, who was responsible for many cool movies in the '80s such as SORORITY GIRLS IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-O-RAMA, DR. ALIEN, and CREEPOZOIDS. WHAT SUCKED ABOUT IT-For starters, this film had NO business being in the new release section. It was actually made in 1994 under the title BLONDE HEAVEN (the name of the model agency) and I even saw it on Cinemax a couple times. Also, the movie is nowhere near as good as DeCoteau's other work, Julie Strain's other work, or Michelle Bauer's other work. I expected more from such an assemblage of skill. The story isn't that interesting and neither are the characters. Michelle doesn't even appear until the very end of the movie (but still manages to get naked and have an extended sex scene with some dude). But the worst thing about this movie, by far, was the sound. I'd say at least 80% of the time, the actors sound like their dialogue was recorded with a boom box placed in the hallway bathroom on the set. The further the actors are from the camera, the more muffled and weak their voices are. I have better sound in my old home movies than this film does. MEMORABLE SCENES-Michelle Bauer plays a "Scream Queen" who turns out to be a vampire and attacks the president of her fan club. She says, "I had to get an unlisted number because of you!". It looked like she enjoyed the role, because I'm sure a lot of what her character said was how actors like her sometimes feel. NOTES-Again, this film was actually made in 1994 under a different title and played on Cinemax occasionally. The DVD, released by Cult Video/Full Moon has a new cover with Julie Strain on it. "Morgana" has nothing to do with the film whatsoever (the tagline on the box..."Julie Strain IS Morgana" is even wrong, her character's name is Illyana). The disc itself contains trailers and that's it.
