PORN STAR: THE LEGEND OF RON JEREMY PLOT-This is a feature-length documentary about the life of Ron Jeremy, who has been acting in pornos since the 70s and has become an icon in the industry. VIOLENCE-Ron has made many attempts to cross over into non-porn films, several of which have been horror. He gets a crucifix shoved thru his head in a scene from TOXIC AVENGER 4, and is shot several times in a clip from KILLING ZOE (I think Tom Savini did the FX for that). SEX/NUDITY-Duh motherfucker! Ron is a huge porn star, so there's tons of clips from his movies. Nothing hardcore is shown, just naked people & screwing. Dicks, breasts, and asses pretty much. WHY I LIKED IT-Face it, man. This is a documentary that's REALLY interesting. Who wouldn't be curious about how Ron Jeremy got to be where he is today? And who wouldn't want a little insight from the man himself? This film is really well-made. And funny as hell too. The story is told thru clips of interviews with Ron, his family & friends, celebrities, his peers in the porn industry, and average joes on the street. Sometimes people say, "man, I'd love to have his life, he fucks all the time". Well, you get to see what it's really like to be Ron Jeremy. He's one hopelessly driven individual. No telling how many women he's had sex with, yet he's disease-free. And look at him, he's gross. But he seemed really nice and he's got a great sense of humor. This is a fascinating film, probably one of the best documentaries since Terry Zwigoff's CRUMB back in 1996. DOWNSIDE-I felt like I could watch this shit all day. It was so much fun and so interesting. I guess my only complaint was that the film was too short, and that it didn't include some kind of filmography for Ron. Porn titles are hilarious (he's in one called ALLY MCFEEL) so I'd like to know more. MEMORABLE SCENES-Ron once did a gangbang video where he fucked 14 women in a mere 2 hours. He tells us how he was able to keep his hardon the whole time and not orgasm till the end. It's hilarious hearing him detail the mental process he uses to make this happen (he has to think about horrible violent images or stuff like grandma or baseball). NOTES-This film is not yet available on video or DVD as far as I know. It was made in 2000 I believe, and has been playing the film festival circuit for awhile.
