SCREAM BLOODY MURDER
PLOT-A bus full of boarding school chicks get stranded at a junkyard in the middle of the desert, where a maniac is on the loose.
VIOLENCE-The violence is cartoonish but still effective. One person is squished completely flat, another gets a forklift up the ass, and yet another is pumped with compressed air till their belly explodes.
SEX/NUDITY-Oddly enough, there's no nudity despite the fact that this is a low-budget horror movie with several young women in the cast, several of whom play slutty characters. Some are seen briefly in their bras and underwear, and some are shown making out quickly.
WHY I WATCHED IT-There's a picture on the back of the box. It's a girl in a school uniform holding a chainsaw. Any questions?
THE DOPE-Okay, so none of the girls ever actually hold a chainsaw in the movie. Okay, so none of them are killed with one either. Normally I'd be pissed, but it just so happens that SCREAM BLOODY MURDER turned out to be a hilariously goofy character piece disguised as a horror movie. I ended up liking it a hell of a lot more than I expected to. Not once does this movie take itself seriously! Not once do the corny-ass jokes let up! Every scene features sexual innuendo upon bad joke upon silly situation. The acting is all first-rate, everybody went for the comedy and made each character shine. The writing and dialogue touched my heart, as it was purposely retarded and lame, just like I like. Plus, the movie never drags or gets boring. I could've watched these characters interact for hours. This movie is very funny, and very smart. It knows it's a b-movie and runs with it, totally succeeding in its aim to be cheesy and fun.
MEMORABLE SCENES-Having just seen one of her schoolmates murdered, a girl runs to her teacher screaming, "there was blood everywhere!", to which her teacher replies calmly, "it's not uncommom for a girl to experience her first period at this age".
DVD NOTES-Sadly there's no special features to be found here. I'd have loved to listen to a cast and director commentary, or at least see interviews or outtakes. Something tells me this movie was fun as hell to make. A warning, DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER BEFORE YOU VIEW THE FILM!!! It totally gives away the SCOOBY DOO-like ending!
