THE VAMPIRE'S SEDUCTION
PLOT-Dracula's daughter makes a nerdy descendent of Van Helsing bring her fresh lesbians.
VIOLENCE-Someone is bitten by a vampire, and blood is briefly shown coming out of its mouth.
SEX/NUDITY-Many many scenes of topless women, some of them making out, some in the shower, and some just standing there talking. Nothing gets too crazy.
WHY I LIKED IT-It seems I can't get enough of John Bacchus these days. He makes a lot of movies, so that's cool. This one is kind of old, it was made in 1998. Although he's definitely gotten better at his craft, this movie is a great indication of what he does best, and has perfected in the last year or so. It is silly, very funny, has some great performances, and some genuinely good softcore lesbian moments (without getting pornographic). I really liked Tina Krause's performance as "Dracoola", her accent was good and she was funny too (not to mention a great-looking vampire). Also, the guy who played Wally Van Helsing was hysterical. I've seen him in other Bacchus films (he was Dr. Frankenstein in MISTRESS FRANKENSTEIN), but this was his biggest and funniest role so far. I have seen many piss-poor independent horror/comedies, and it is a rare thing for them to actually be funny. So VAMPIRE'S SEDUCTION is a solid film indeed, and demonstrates what a talented group Bacchus is a part of, as evidenced by their early work as well as the newer stuff.
DOWNSIDE-My main problem with this one is that it's too short. I swear it wasn't an hour long, but if not then just barely. That's probably why they included the 50-minute MISTY'S SECRET on the other side of the disc (discussed in "Notes" below). I really liked Tina Krause, and would like to have seen more of her. The movie ends rather abruptly. My only other complaint was with the "lesbian slumber party" scene. It was very effective up to a point, but lost all credibility once you saw that these innocent, virginal young girls were tattooed & pierced. Call me crazy, but it kind of threw off the great scene that came right before (see "Memorable Scenes" below).
MEMORABLE SCENES-Like I said, the first half of the slumber party scene is golden. The dialogue is incredible, so funny and yet oddly sexy: "Girls smell better than boys, don't they? And girls are prettier than boys are, right? Ever wonder what it would feel like to kiss a girl? Look at her, her skin is so soft..."
NOTES-Side 2 of the DVD contains a 50-minute film called MISTY'S SECRET. It features Tina Krause, Misty Mundae and Esmerelda DellaRocco (from EROTIC SURVIVOR), and a couple others I recognized. It wasn't directed by Bacchus, so it's got a different feel. Whomever made it seems to really like the films of Richard Kern, because it kind of resembles those, only a lot weaker in terms of sexual content. Basically, Krause and Mundae are a female couple that live & bathe together, but there is tension going on and they don't get intimate with each other till the end of the film (there is very little dialogue spoken in this movie). Esmerelda house-sits for someone, and does a striptease in their window with the curtains open. It was a neat little movie, and a definite change of pace from how Seduction Cinema usually makes its films.
