Behind the Eyes

Chapter 2

"Mommy! Mommy!" the small girl cried as she ran to the tall women with the brown hair in two long braids. The two hugged. Both stood up in long dresses that flowed past their feet. The small girl laughed; her blonde hair falling down the sides of her face.

The brown haired women leaned down to the girl and said to her "Oh, my daughter. Someday you will do much good for our world."

Just as she had said that, a dark shadow covered the women. In an instant, she was gone. The girl, terrified of what she had just witnessed, ran away from the shadow. She screamed as she falls to the ground. The dark shadow creeped closer to her. The young girl felt the evil as the shadow covered her until. . .

The white stars and moon was fading when the white wolf awakened. The sun was rising in the East and the lake was peaceful. The wolf slowly turns to her human form. A single tear rolled down Destiny's cheek. She wipes it away and walked away.

The sun peeked out from a cloud on the horizen. Destiny walked to the scene of the party, yet now the lake was perfectly calm and peaceful. The shape-shifter kneeled down near the water's edge and scooped up a hand-full of water to her face. She let the water stream down her face with a sigh.

"Have a good night's sleep?" A male's voice said in her head as a hand touched her shoulder. Destiny quickly turned around to see a very tall man with blonde hair and dark eyes staring at her, smiling. "Andre'! Please do not sneak behind me like that!" she said to him. "I am sorry Destiny. I apologize.", he said to her sincerely. He held out his hand to her. She took it and Andre' lifted her up onto her bare feet.

"Are you alright?" He said with a concerned look on his face. Destiny nodded and walked to a nearby berry bush. She picked off one of the red berries and threw it into her mouth. As she felt Andre's hand brush her hair out of her face, she felt chills crawl up her spine and under her skin. Destiny knew what he was doing, and pushed his hand away.

His voice, deep and chilling, said "Destiny, do you want to come back to my home to rest? I always have a room for you, you know." She knew he was really saying. "Andre', we are friends and only friends. Anyways, there are millions of places to rest." She turned around and slowly, her blonde hair back into her head while her nose grew longer to form a beak.

After a minute, she was a pure white eagle spread her wings and flew into the bright blue sky.

Eric looked up at the dark night sky in the Colorado Mountains and smiled. "Hey, Becca! Come here!" He yelled without looking behind him. He heard his girlfriend run up behind him and say "Wow, the stars are beautiful tonight . . ." He turned to her and put his arm around her. "They are, but not as beautiful as you." He leaned and kissed her her cheek gently, then he ran his fingers through her brown hair. "These past few days have been great, Rebecca. And I wanna tell you something really important to tell you something really important." He said to her, thinking of the other night they spent together.

The girl slowly turned to him and said in a low voice "That can wait." Eric's eyes widened as two white teeth grew out of her mouth and her smooth tan face became very wrinkled, brown and hairy. Her eyes grew from blue to dark red. "Rebecca. . ." Eric started, but couldn't finish because he was paralized with fear. The creature that Rebecca had changed into smiled, thinking of what she was going to do. She pushed him gently into the woods with her nose. Then, Eric snapped out of her hypnotic stare and started to run.

Eric ran faster then he ever could before but still knew that, sooner or later, the monster he thought he loved, would catch him. His legs grew tired and weak as he heard the creature catch up to him more and more. A loud growl signaled the end of his adventure and a new beginning. A very dark and evil beginning.
