Liisa Kurri is a Midwesterner of Finnish birth who came West to raise horses, seeking an improved cowpony. Her background is diverse for a woman, ranging from skilled carpentry to gunsmithing, with sheep ranching thrown in for good measure. She has come to Four Corners alone, after her boyfriend was killed during a cavalry march in Montana. Caught in a feud with a nearby cattle rancher resulting in an arrest for attempted murder; the rancher bludgeoned Liisa's pize Morgan stallion to death.
Definitely one of the characters of the old West, Liisa is that strange dichotomy of a lady and a "tough hombre", making those who come into contact with her uncertain as to whether she is friend or foe. (Think Sharon Stone in "Quick and the Dead") Her future is uncertain, but Four Corners will be a turning point in her life, as it has for other stragglers who have wandered in off of the desert's edge....
