K.C. quietly held Lucky's lead as he watched the third prospective buyer for the stallion look the Appaloosa over seemed all anyone wanted this once great stallion for was pulling. Which would never do for him. The man looked over at K.C., "How much for him?"
"Two hundred," K.C. stated plainly.
The man only nodded, looked the horse over again. Calmly rested his arm on the large horses rump, and looked at K.C., "I'll take him."
Taking the man's money K.C. waited and watched as the man led the stallion down the road in the hot afternoon sun. Slowly as the two turned a corner he walked toward the saloon. Pushing through the doors, he caught sight of Lily talking to Vin as he leaned casually on the bar smiling at her.
"Lily," K.C. said to her quietly as he slid his hand across the bar stopping just before her. She looked at him quizzically.
K.C. calmly took his hand off the seventy-five dollars that he had hidden under his hand and then turned to leave. "Cher," Lily asked with a quietness, that brought K.C. to a stop Vin still leaning in his spot, "What are you going to do?"
K.C. shrugged, "Not sure."
"You can stay on here."
K.C. shook his head, "It's ‘bout time I move on." Without giving anyone time to think K.C. walked out of the saloon.
