It was nearly dawn. Stars still twinkled in the sky and they were beginning to fade as the corners of the sky began to turn a light blue. AJ Cinders sat stoically upon her Andolonian. It was early, and most everyone would be still be sleeping. She had grown accoustomed to rising before dawn. When she'd traveled with Jason, they'd often left at daybreak or broke camp before. AJ had ridden out of Four Corners to investigate the Gallagher ranch. She stayed a safe distance away from the area since it had a sentry. Someone could easily get through that man if they wanted to. But she wouldn't make a move until she had evidence.
The Gallaghers were appearant friends of the seven peacekeepers of Four Corners. That incident with Sanchez was proof enough. To provoke those men would not be a smart move. She needed them on her side. And AJ would have to be careful no matter what. If Malley got wind of her disrupting his plans, again, he would come after her. The Irish man hated her enough already.
The loud cracking of gunshots echoed throughout the area. AJ kicked her horse into motion. She stayed hidden in the rocks as she dismounted and crouched on her heels to see what was going on. Several men surrounded a man and a woman. The woman she identified as Molly Gallagher. She couldn't identify the man who was attempting to protect her. He was going to get himself killed. AJ swore to herself. She brought her colt gun from its
hoslter and spun it once before aiming it at the men. AJ didn't shoot. She was waiting for one of the men to make a move against the Gallagher girl and the man.
