6:30pm: Tony, Anthony, and PJ went to OnCue to talk to Dustin. T and A played Geetar with Bud- then we decided to leave tonight instead of Sat. morning.
7:30pm: Tony, Anthony, and PJ go to McDonald's for supper where Anthony calls Kate "hot lips, sweet t*ts, sweet hips." It was kind of creepy and weird. Tony almost sprayed a Big Mac all over him.
8:30pm: We went to Hugo's to buy supplies- they had Canfield's (in the old cans) but no Tato Skins.
10:10pm: Tony's camcorder was low on batteries and we had no charger so we had to go borrow Haroldson's- his batteries were dead too, but he had a charger.
10:30pm: A and T picked up PJ and we headed out to find D. We found the BOV but no Nitsud- he was in Perkins with Kelsey.
10:45pm: Dustin went to his house while the other 3 went to the Flitton's to find Phriq- he was going to let us borrow a Sound Feeder to listen to CD's over the radio. Well, we couldn't find it but we did watch a video of Freon getting bathed.
11:00pm: Went to County Market to buy supplies- they had Diet Choc. Fudge in the new cans and Tato Skins! We were happy. Anthony bought some No Doz and fruit.
11:45pm: Went to Stop-N-Go to get gas and a Spider Man comic. Anthony pretended to steal a 6-pack of Coke, but he actually paid for it. ($.89 w/8 gallons of gas).
Saturday, August 14, 1999
12:34am: Arrived at Farmer D's. He showed us his spiffy new geetar and we saw London (Carissa's baby boy). Then PJ cut Tony's head off with Qui-Gon's light saber...but he was ok. Then we grabbed the charging battery (we unplugged it first) and the freshly baked homemade rhubarb pie, and left.
12:58am: We were still in Nitsud's driveway and Bergman ate his peach. It wasn't very soft.
1:07am: We decided to by-pass the Rothsay billboard to save some time.
1:18am: We merged onto I-94!!!
1:23am: Weird thing sighted on road- we narrowly missed it. Phew!
1:35am: Valley City...drove through as fast as possible.
1:54am: Kit Kat breaks weird, freaks us out.
1:59am: Anthony, Dustin, and Tony (Junebug) spontaneously create Candle By The Twine (Rap Remix).
2:02am: Successfully passed Absaraka exit with no blow-outs.
2:07am: Weird, spooky, ghost-like fog appears on the road and causes Tony to have to slow down momentarily...come on! The clock is ticking here!
2:15am: Weird, flashy, bomb like thing in the sky.
2:19am: Fire on the side of the road near Mark's Strawberry Farm. (We have a hunch that it may have been linked to the weird, bomb-like thing.)
2:36am(?): Arrive in Fargo and go to Petro.
2:53am: Left Petro, where Lumpy was working, and batteries in CD player.
3:02am: Entered Minnesota (not Canada).
3:12am: Tony ran over a dead animal.
3:33am: We arrive at Rothsay!!
3:38am: Gibby has been thoroughly cheesed, ha ha ha!
3:46am: Weird Al's legendary Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota played for the first time (this trip)- Bergman sang the wrong lyrics on the first line. (But we still love him.)
4:34am: Alexandria, McDonald's was closed so we didn't see Jackie.
4:46am: First signs of light on the the horizon.
4:55am: Turned onto Hwy 71.
5:14am: Entered Belgrade, bypassed the Kaiser....for now!
5:19am: Passed over the Skunk River.
5:20am: Passed over the Skunk River. Again.
5:39am: Saw the sun rising in the WEST and figured we should probably turn around and go the right direction.
5:54am: Passed through Brrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottttoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnn again.
5:58am: Passed over the Skunk River. Again.
5:59am: Passed over the Skunk River. Once more.
6:02am: Arrived at the Kaiser...
6:10am: Anthony, Tony, and Dustin urinated on the Kaiser...then we left.
6:14am: A memory of a funny thing Dustin said months ago made Tony spray pop. For those of you who may know about it, I thought of Dustin's alternate title for NSU's "What's Up?". And just for the record, he shared another one with us on the trip.
6:32am: We noticed the sun had risen and Anthony noticed that his a$$ hurt.
6:36am: Went the wrong way in Willmar- Kaiser's fault.
6:40am: Dustin said, "Willmahr" and then we got on Hwy 12.
6:55am: Turned around and went back to Atwater because the gas tank was empty.
6:58am: "Tropicana half gallon, $2.49." -Dustin in rhythm at Conoco in Atwater.
7:10am: A cat ran out in front of the car and Dustin meowed.
7:16am: Passed Pete Slayton's place. (the mute, to those who know of him)
7:19am: Tony referred to Darwin as Derwood...we've all been awake waaaaaay too long.
7:22am: Saw the Darwin (not Derwood) water tower.
7:24am: Saw the "Welcome to Twine Ball Country" sign.
7:25am: After six hours and eighteen minutes of journey, we're finally IN DARWIN!
7:30am: Signed Guestbook
7:45am: Had free breakfast at the Twine Ball Inn courtesy of Thea.
8:35am: Rested in Tony's car.
11:17am(?): Woke up.
1:10pm: Woke up for the 2nd time.
1:20pm: Found Pete! Went to the Twine Ball Inn.
1:30pm: Gave impromptu and short inspirational speeches.
1:40pm: Looked at various booths and stuff including a yard sale where Tony wanted to buy a couch and some Beanie Babies.
1:50pm: Prepared to Play some LeftHandedFreeStyleBasketBall.
2:10pm: Bought batteries so Thea could use PJ's boombox.
2:11pm: Put air in the basketball.
2:30pm: Played LHFSBB, final score 113-121.5. (winners- Pete, Tony, Anthony. Losers- PJ and Dustin...hahahaha!)
3:00pm: Parade...and again.
3:40pm: Sang Biggest Ball Of Twine In Minnesota in front of the Ball.
4:04pm: Went to Pepsi stand because the Twine Ball Inn was closed.
4:10pm: Bergman got a cigarette with Jes while D, P, and T went on the swings.
4:20pm: Peter broke the fence.
4:45pm: Met Bernie the Butcher- 3rd generation butcher who has lived in Darwin for 54 yrs.
4:57pm: Shoes once again mysteriously appear on the roof.
5:09pm: Manual labor of carrying a table across the street.
5:30pm(?): Junebug photo shoot.
6:06pm: Stopped at a rummage sale. Tony got a record of music from the Electric Company show and Anthony bought The Dude's bowling ball.
6:30pm: Went to Pizza Hut in Litchfield where Marsha was our server.
7:15pm: Back in Darwin to gain access to the Pagoda.
7:25pm: We were in the Pagoda again Pete's first time.
7:30pm: Candle By The Twine Rap Remix
8:16pm: Ate mama's homemade rhubarb pie.
8:31pm: Almost forgot the pie, Pete had to run and get it.
8:50pm(?): Sadly left Darwin. Tony said, "I've got a funny kind of feeling we'll be coming back again next year." We have to go in separate cars because Pete came at a different time than the others. When we left Darwin, it was Anthony and Pete in Pete's car and Dustin, PJ, and Tony in Tony's car.
9:00pm(?): Our scribe rapidly falls asleep.
10:55pm: Arrived in Alexandria and much to our excitement, Jackie was working! We also got free apple pies.
11:20pm: We got kicked out because Jackie was supposed to be working and they were closed by this time anyway. Still at McDonald's, Tony is leaving his address on a car so he can get it to Jackie. Anthony and Dustin switch places in cars.
11:45pm: Again, our scribe rapidly falls asleep. All following log entries have been put together at a later date based on the Webmaster's memory alone and times may not be correct.

2:10am(?): We arrive at Petro where once again, Lumpy is working. We are kind of in a hurry to get home because it's getting so late. We decide not to watch the video when we get back to Jamestown. Besides, we didn't have the proper facilities to do so anyhow. Pete and Anthony go in Pete's car. We say our goodbyes and leave Fargo.
2:27am(?): Tony passes Pete and honks his horn very loudly.
2:30am(?): Pete pulls Tony over because Anthony left his stuff in Tony's car and he needed to get it.
2:42am(?): Tony again passes Pete. It would be the last time we would see each other on this trip.
4:50am(?): Drop Nitsud at the Skram farm.
5:10am(?): Drop PJ at the Nosraep house.
5:20am(?): Tony arrives home sealing the end on Twine 99.
