And Mutterings

While cruising the web, I've picked up some cool pictures...mainly to spruce up my postings on chatrooms. I thought I might add random thoughts and ramblings to go with them.

First of all, one of my favorite authors...Mr. Stephen King. I discovered Mr. King's work by accident during an idle stroll through the fiction section of my local library. I happened upon "Carrie" unsuspecting and was hooked ever since. My favorites of his has to be The Shining and Salem's Lot. I still read his stuff...some things have me grabbing the books with white knuckles...others....well, let's say the knuckles were just pale. Don't worry Steve, I'm still your #1 fan (heh heh heh)...

Someone please explain the Neo-Nazis to me...I don't get it. OK...I accept that if good ideas live beyond the people who present them, then bad ones can too. But..THE NAZIS?! Are there still people so feeble minded to believe the "Jews are devils" line and the wholesale slaughter of 6+ million of them was a good idea? Perhaps it's just another gang...another way to "belong". Not that I worry about them, but it may not be a bad idea to keep an eye on them.

Just a little suggestion for the modern-day followers of Der Fuerher...

One of the things we in America are just starting to grapple with is the idea that we may not be walking gods due to the country we are born in. Some are taking that news very hard (witness the recent Clinton impeachment), and others of us have suspected it over the years. One of our little myths is that we don't have political prisoners...I offer this picture as evidence to the contrary.

I think some people in this country take their religion entirely too seriously...

Is it my imagination, or ever since the FCC did away with the Fairness Doctrine (which said that both sides of an issue must get equal time)...ye olde talk radio has swung so far to the right that it's almost left the planet? Of course, the far right has always sold on radio far more than liberals...they are better at outrageous statements to stir the pot...and their followers are more likely to swerve off the road to call in, where liberals will just drive on...sadly shaking their heads. Ah well - it's all about entertainment...until something like Oklahoma City or abortion doctor shootings happen...or some racist nitwit decides to exercise his 2nd Amendment "rights" to shoot up some Jews and minorities! He IS the NRA...now featuring the .45 Littleton Special!!

SPECIAL RUSH LIMBAUGH SECTION

Many may be pretenders to the throne, but no can come near the rightie-paranoid pandering of the King of the Far Right of Jupiter rabid radio talk shows: Rush Limbaugh!
Yes, I listen regularly (got to keep up with the freaks)...and the man does impress! From creating issues out of thin air like the lie about the Democrats selling plots at Arlington for campaign contributions and being a faithful impeachment drumbeater/liberal basher to proclaiming his "independence" while shilling for Republican candidates and positions, Rush has been the friend to turn to when your neighbors laugh at your fascist conspiracy theories.
I don't care to keep track of his whoppers (I turn to NPR's "Talk of the Nation" as soon as it's available), but I know who does and does it well.
Out of the wilds of the Internet comes that champion of truth and justice: BARTCOP! His newletter/rant entitled "Rush Limba: Lying Nazi Whore" is hilarious and right on the money.
