For Your Eyes Only--Crucial Information

1.  Why waste your time with this website, anyway?

I started creating this website in early 1998 for three reasons:

A.)  I have been a big fan of James Bond for quite awhile now, and I wanted to throw all of my knowledge of 007 into one spot, for all to enjoy.  The Dry Martini is a sort of ongoing compendium of my thoughts and opinions on various James Bond elements.

B.)  I also have a strong interest in computer technology (hey, it's the wave of the future!) and, prior to this site, internet publishing was one aspect of computers that I hadn't tackled.  For those of you who haven't ever attempted to design your own website, I'll be the first to tell you that it's an extremely satisfying experience.

C.)  Lastly, my lifelong love for writing and expressing my opinions is my main motivation behind this page.  Hopefully, this site will get some of my stuff out into the public mainstream of the internet, and I'll see what kind of feedback I receive.

2.  So, are you using that tedious HTML stuff, or what?

No, I'm using a fantastic web publishing program called AOL Press.  It is available for AOL users and non-users alike.  Find it at www.aolpress.com or AOL KEYWORD:  AOLPRESS.

AOL Press has the ability to run on Macintosh or PC, online or offline and works much like your standard word processor.  It uses color, picture placement, links, font styles, and a lot more.  It also lets the user bypass the horrendous HTML that most amateur web designers (like me!) stress over.  And the greatest part is that it's absolutely free and takes up very little space on your hard drive (unless you're planning on creating some juggernaut of a website)!

3.  Have you had any problems regarding copyright laws while designing your website?

No.  All of the material on this website (to my knowledge) is not copyrighted.  However, if you happen to discover an image, graphic or idea that you believe to be copyrighted, please  e-mail me and bring this to my attention.  I will gladly remove any material that is found to be copyrighted, without a fuss.  The Dry Martini was simply made for the enjoyment of Bond fans, and the last thing I want to do is to anger or upset someone.  That's why I have conveniently written a paragraph on the main page which denies all affiliation with anyone related to the Bond entity or any of the images on this site.

4.  What type of expansions will be made to The Dry Martini in the future?

Somewhere down the road, I hope to add a voter's booth and fan fiction entries to my website, as well as information on Ian Fleming's 007 books.  If I run out of available space at Geocities, I'll just pack up and move somewhere else!

You can help the progress of this website by graciously sending me any Bond-related material or information you might have.  I'll take anything:  GIFs, JPGs, WAV files, etc.  Just send me stuff! I'd be very grateful.
