"One, two, three, four, five, breath." Molly blew into his mouth. They repeated the sequence again, paying no attention to the seven men that now surrounded them, guns pointed at the small group trying desperately to bring their friend back.

"…three, four, five, breath!"

"Kyle, don't do this to me," Molly willed him, blowing into his mouth. She was exhausted.

"Moll, let me," Brenda said gently moving into position near Kyle's head. Defiantly, Molly shook her head.

"…breath," Jamie commanded. She did so, and it happened. Kyle gasped for air. It was only then that Molly allowed herself to burst into tears.

"I swear, I've seen a lot of things in my day" Buck wasn't sure how to finish his thought. His voice broke the spell they all seemed to have been under. Nathan once again knelt down to the boy. The bullet seemed to have gone straight through his shoulder and the boy didn't seem to have lost all that much blood, so why did he suddenly stop breathing and for that matter what the hell did these kids just do to get a dead man back to life? Molly gasped as a hand reached out and pulled her roughly to her feet.

"Let her go," Jamie said threateningly, jumping his feet. Kyle would kill him if he allowed anything to happen to Molly.

"I suggest you watch your tone," the man holding Molly said, once again pointing his gun at them.

"I suggest you let her be," Jamie said, equally as threateningly.

"Jamie, you're not helping," Molly said in a begging tone. Jamie gave her a look that suggested he knew what he was doing. Molly knew what he was thinking, he'd distract the men and Brenda and Molly could run. She also knew she wouldn't do it. She wouldn't leave Kyle there hurt. Besides, they couldn't possibly outrun them. Brenda stepped up behind Jamie and put her hand on his shoulder.

"Let's just do what they say," she whispered to him. The man that held Molly whirled her around and forced her to walk in front of him. Not daring to turn around to see if the others were behind her, she fought for calm. They walked a little way to a clearing where seven horses were standing. The man that was behind her grabbed her arm and brought her to a halt. She turned around, noticing for the first time it was the same man she saw two days before.

"This is nuts," Brenda said out loud, echoing what everyone felt.

"Where is Kyle?" Molly asked. The man just looked down at her and moved to walk toward one of the horses. Jamie was standing near Brenda but Kyle was no where in site. Neither was the black man she'd seen near him or the younger man that originally had Brenda. "Answer me," Molly demanded of the man. He continued to ignore her, going through a saddlebag. "Where is he?" she yelled. Jamie came up behind her and put his hands on her shoulders.

"It's okay," he said. Molly shook him off. She was now fully in hysterics.

"No, it's not okay, this is not okay," she said half crying, half-yelling. Brenda stepped in between the two of them.

"We can't do this," she said. "We have to stay calm and figure this thing out." Something inside Molly just snapped. She was tired of everyone telling her to be calm and patient.

"Calm? You want us to be calm? Take a look around you, Brenda. Kyle's been shot, we don't know where he is, we don't know where we are, seven men are hell-bent on trying to kill us, and no one has any idea where we are to try and get help to us."

"We don't know that they are trying to kill us," Jamie responded.

"They shot Kyle! To me that's a pretty good indication that they want to hurt us," Molly yelled at him.

"You think that every man is out to hurt you," Jamie yelled at her, the words out before he had a chance to take them back. Molly slapped him hard across his face. It was a reflex. She didn't even think about doing it and realized after it was done that she'd probably hurt her hand more than hurt his face. Brenda and Jamie both sat there, staring at her stunned. Even the men that had led them there looked at Molly in total awe. She didn't seem the type to do anything like that.

"Moll, I'm sorry…" he started. She held up her hands.

"Don't," she said simply. "Just don't." What he said hurt, mostly because it was true. Molly couldn't pass by a strange man on the street without wondering…are you him? She couldn't allow herself to go there now. Kyle needed her. They had to stay as calm as possible. They didn't know who these men were or what they wanted and that information was obviously not forthcoming. She turned back to the man who had led her there.

"Please," she said, trying to sound like she wasn't begging. "I just want to know that Kyle's alright. Just tell me he's alright." Chris looked down at her and directed his gaze at the other two. 'What the hell were they doing?' he thought to himself. 'They were just kids.' He couldn't back down now.

"He's fine," he said simply, turning back to the horse, he was unable to look at the girl again. Something about her was too familiar to be comfortable. The other's called her Molly. He'd seen her before, near his old property. She appeared suddenly, an almost ghost-like image and disappeared just as quickly. But that wasn't why she seemed so familiar, he'd had that feeling about her when he first saw her. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Nathan and JD returning with the other boy. They were both supporting him walking slowly toward them. The girl Molly, made a move to run toward them, but was stopped by Buck who grabbed her arm, looking toward Chris for some sort of sign he was doing right. The other girl went to the other side of Molly and took her free hand and said something to her that Chris couldn't hear. She stopped struggling against Buck's hold on her arm and watched as they slowly made their way toward the rest of the group.

Molly looked past the man she was begging information from and saw three figures approaching them. One was Kyle, being supported on both sides by the other two men. Instinctively, she started toward them but a hand clamped itself down on her arm. She tried to pull out of the grip to no avail. Brenda came up along side her.

"He's walking Moll, that's a good sign. Let's just wait for them, okay," she said as calmly as she could. Molly just looked at her and stopped pulling against the man's grip. It wasn't getting her anywhere and it was hurting. She waiting for what seemed like an hour for them to get to the rest of the group. The man let his grip on her arm loosen up. When they were only a few feet in front of them, she shook him off and half-walked half-ran up to them.

"Kyle?" she said to him.

"I'm okay," he said to her, answering her unasked question with a grimace.

"No, your not," she said. "You're still bleeding," she said, noticing the blood seeping through the makeshift bandage that the two men must have applied. "Why did you move him?" she yelled at Nathan in particular. He came across to Molly as knowing better. She moved to take over for the younger man, but he tried to stop her.

"I've got him," he said to her. She ignored him and he didn't argue but moved Kyle's arm over her small shoulders. Together, Nathan and Molly got him in a siting position near the wagon.

"God, this is my fault," Molly started. "What have I done?"

"Hay," Kyle cut her off. "This is no one's fault." Molly just looked at him. He was always trying to make it better. It made her nuts. Why couldn't he just let her be upset? It wasn't his fault, but she still deep down wanted to blame him and that made her feel even worse.

Buck walked over to Chris who was watching the whole escapade from the side of his horse.

"What do we do with them now?" he asked him. Chris just shook his head. "Something happened to her," Buck said, nodding to Molly. Chris looked back over to her now kneeling near the injured boy.

"How the hell do you possibly know that?" he asked Buck.

"Look at her. I've seen that look on a woman's face one too many times. Someone hurt her bad." Chris looked back over at her. She was kneeling next to the boy with her back to him. The other two had joined them.

Brenda and Jamie made their way over to Molly and Kyle. They knelt on the other side of him. Brenda looked up and something in the distance made her catch her breath. A burnt out frame of a house. Near by was a small, crudely build fence that was surrounding two grave markers. Brenda could clearly see the black writing on them; Sarah Larabee and Adam Larabee.

"Oh, God," she gasped.

"What?" Jamie asked her looking in the direction she was. Molly followed her gaze and froze. She slowly stood up.

"No, oh God no," she cried. Jamie and Brenda also stood up.

"Molly, wait," Jamie said, anticipating her move. She pushed past him and broke into a run toward the remains of the house.

"Molly," Brenda yelled looking back toward the men that had led them here. Two of them ran after her, with Jamie right behind them. Molly didn't care, she ran toward the house. She slowed down as she neared it, hearing several people running toward her.

"Molly, stop," Jamie yelled grabbing her arm and pulling her to a halt.

"What is going on?" she asked him. He could only shake his head. She walked up toward the steps of the house, remembering. The house wasn't burnt, it was just not quite completely built yet. She had two boxes in her arms as she got inside it happened. She was shoved to the ground. She struggled to get up, to see her attacker in the pitch-blackness of the darkened house, but he wouldn't allow it. Raw fear caused primitive behavior to take over. Molly began fighting back, realizing exactly what the attacker wanted from her. Her head was picked up and thrown back down into the floor. Molly struggled to stay conscious, realizing she no longer had her pants on and her shirt was torn…

"Molly," a voice brought her out of her memories. She turned toward it, it was Jamie. "Molly, we have to go back. Do you understand? Molly?" She could only nod her head and allowed Jamie to help her down from the burnt porch.

Buck wanted desperately to do something. He had taken off after the girl, Molly along with Vin. She had obviously been there before. Had she seen the fire? Is that what upset her so much? He watched as her friend helped her down from the remains of the porch and put his arm protectively across her shoulders. Buck looked toward where they had come from to see Chris walking toward the two kids. Anger flashed in his eyes and Buck knew he was ready to loose all control. Jamie tried to side step him but he harshly grabbed Molly. Jamie tried to pull her from his grip and was met with a punch that sent him to the ground.

"Jamie," Molly cried out trying to get out of the man's grip. It was no use. The man that had her held her shoulders in a way that forced her to look at him.

"What did you see?" he demanded from her, applying pressure to her shoulders as he did so. Molly shook her head, not understanding what he meant.

"I don't know what you're talking about," she answered. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Jamie trying to stand up.

"You saw something that night, now what was it," he asked her again. Molly again shook her head. "You will tell me." He took one hand off her shoulder and raised it above his head as if he was going to strike her. Molly turned her head away from the blow she saw coming, lost her balance and fell to the ground. A hand behind this man grabbed his raised arm and pulled it down.

"Chris, what the hell are you doing?" the voice belonged to the mustached-man.

Two others came down the hill toward them. The man called Chris didn't allow the other to subdue him. Molly looked back up and only saw a shadow, no face, no features only a shadow. It was happening again only this time she could run. Molly pushed herself up and ran as fast as she could, tears of panic blurring her vision. She could hear footsteps in pursuit behind her. 'Get away, get somewhere safe,' her mind was screaming at her. Out of no where a hand grabbed her arm and threw her to the ground. Molly tried to push herself up again to run, but was forced back to the ground. She started screaming, hitting blindly at her unknown attacker. He straddled her across her waist, pulled her two small wrists into one of his large hands and clamped the other down on her mouth.

"Stop it, Molly. I'm not going to hurt you. Do you understand? I won't hurt you," the faceless attacker faded into Buck's face. Molly stopped struggling and just cried out of fear and exhaustion. Buck allowed his hold on her to loosen gradually, in case she tried to run again. He rolled off of her but stayed in a kneeling position near her and helped pull her into a sitting position.

"I'm sorry," she gasped. "I'm sorry." Buck reached out to brush tears off her face. He was fully prepared for her to flinch, but she didn't. He then took a chance and reached out to put his arms around her, to his great surprise, she returned the embrace. He suddenly felt her body stiffen against him and heard her utter a small gasp. He whirled around, drawing his gun. Chris was standing less than 10 feet away approaching him was the other boy. Molly got up and ran into his arms. He put his arms around her shoulders and walked with her back toward the clearing. They were met by Vin who gave them a look suggesting that they do nothing but head directly back to where Brenda and Kyle were. Brenda saw them coming and ran up to Molly who immediately threw her arms around her best friend. Brenda held on tight to her, letting her just fall apart. Molly could do nothing but cry. She had been afraid to before, feeling that if she gave into it she wouldn't be able to stop.

Kyle pushed himself painfully up and walked over to the girls. Jamie put his arms around them and Kyle put himself on the other side doing the same. They needed to do this, not because they were trapped in what seemed like an alternate universe, but because they needed to let Molly know she wasn't alone in her pain.

Nathan, JD and Josiah watched cautiously at the group. After a minute, Molly let her sobbing subside and she raised her head at her best friends. 'It wasn't fair!' her mind screamed. Out of the corner of his eyes, Jamie could see the two remaining men come back toward them, neither one looking at all thrilled. Anger consumed him. He'd known Molly practically all of his life. He considered her one of his best friends. He couldn't do anything to stop what happened to her that night, but he'd taken a vow that he'd never let it happen again. Not to Molly, Brenda or any other woman. What that man was going to do to Molly caused all of this anger to spill over. How dare he try to hit her for something that was not her fault. He pushed away from the group and walked up to the man that had held Molly and before Chris could react to him in any way, Jamie hit him. Molly could only stand there and watch the scene unfold before her eyes. Kyle tried to step in between the two men but Jamie shoved him out of the way. The man Jamie hit turned to face him with a smug smile on his face.

"You will never lay another hand on either of these girls again. None of you will. Do you understand me?" Jamie said to him. "You have no right." Molly watched what was happening as if she were watching a play. Jamie was going to get hurt or possibly killed and it would be her fault. But it was Brenda that finally did what none of them were able to do up until this point. She stepped in front of her boyfriend and made him look at her.

"Jamie, stop it," she said simply and quietly almost in a whisper. She then turned and faced the group of men "You have no cause to hold us hostage like this. We haven't done anything wrong. We haven't done anything to you."

"We're not holding you hostage," one of the men near Molly answered. It was the older man, the one that reminded Molly of her uncle. Molly turned to him. "Then let us go," she said.

"It's not that simple," the one called Chris answered her. Molly chose to ignore him. "We can't get anywhere anymore tonight. We'll have to camp here and head back in the morning," he said as if the matter of holding four people against their will had been dropped. The seven men seemed to take what he had just said as some kind of cue. They began moving toward horses, pulling items out of saddlebags. The four friends moved toward the fence they originally propped Kyle on and helped him to sit again. As Molly moved her hand away from his back, she noticed blood on it.

"You're bleeding again," she said. Brenda moved next to her to help him out of his shirt.

"Go check and see if there is anything we can use for bandages," she told Molly.

"Nathan would have them," Kyle said to her, weakly. Molly gave him a look that indicated she had no clue who he was talking about. "The black man," he answered her unasked question. Molly stood and scanned the area around them for the man Kyle was talking about. She saw him near one of the horses. Drawing a deep breath, Molly approached him.

"Nathan?" she said meekly as she approached him. He turned toward her.

"Molly, right?" he asked her. She nodded.

"Kyle's bleeding again. He said that you might have something we could use as bandages." He nodded to her and pulled a bag off of the saddle and handed it to her.

"Look in there. Take what you need. I'll be over in a minute to see if I can help," he said to her. She took the bag.

"Thank you," she said. He nodded and continued to remove the saddle from the horse. She moved a little off to the side placed the bag on the ground and began digging through it. 'They should be at a hospital' a voice in the back of her head told her. Kyle was hurt and bleeding to death and it was her fault. This whole thing was her fault. She should never have dragged her friends into this mess. It was her problem. If Kyle died here because they couldn't get away she would never forgive herself. The thought caused her to start trembling. What had she done? She placed her hands over her mouth to try and keep herself from crying. She couldn't afford it right now. She wiped her eyes and took what she needed from the bag. She stood and turned around startled to find the man that reminded her of her uncle standing directly in front of her. She stepped back, frightened by the fact that he was so close to her and she hadn't even realized it. He seemed to sense her fear.
