A Swiss-United States partnership has announced that it will construct a complete,
full-size replica of the famous Titanic and sail it on its maiden voyage on April 10th,
2002 - the 90th anniversary of the original ship’s maiden voyage.
The second Titanic will be just like its predacessor. It will sail
from Southampton, England to New York, U.S.A. on April 10th. The ship will cost an
estimated $500 million and tickets will range from $10,000 to $100,000.
However, the only problem is that one of the same mistakes is being made. In
1912, it was stated that no matter what, the Titanic could not sink under any
circumstances...yet it did. Now, that same statement is being made. “It cannot sink,”
said Walter Navratil, president of White Star Line Ltd. in the Mar. 6th, 1998 edition of
the New York Post.
How can we know this, though? How can we be absolutely certain that the second Titanic is unsinkable? In my opinion, I just believe that the second
Titanic should definitely not be claimed “unsinkable” like the first. It truly is a mistake that could prove fatal.
