In my quest to try to beefen up my page, I realized that there is nothing on here that describes...ME! So, here you go.
I am currently a student at the Universtiy of Connecticut. I am going to be graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I cannot wait to be done with school... except I'm going to have to get a real job. Check out Uconn and Uconn at Hartford's webpages:
Before going to college, I went to EHHS, and graduated 17th in my class! An amazing feat considering I wasn't in the honors team, which means I didn't get as many points for my classes and grades as the honors team students did. (The more points you have, the higher your class rank). Yeah, I'm bitter about not getting into the honors team, but hey, look who kicked the majority of those students asses in class rank... oh, that would be ME!
What usually accompanies going to college and growing up? Having to get a job. I tried to delay this horror for as long as possible, but alas, I had to find a job. I work at Between Rounds, a bagel deli and bakery. I like working there and I love my coworkers (for the most part). We are rebuilding our store, so it's been a little crazy; it's a good thing we love each other... well, it's a good thing most of us love almost all of us. (you get the point).
I got engaged on September 27, 2003 to Steve! We've been dating since February 14, 1999, and our current wedding date is October 13 2006. (That's a Friday, hehe). It's exciting, but I think I would much rather elope than go through all the crap that comes along with wedding planning. And let me tell you, everyone says that your wedding should be the way you want it and it's your day do as you please, blah blah blah. But the truth is, everyone has an opinion and expects you to listen to them. So your wedding is pretty much everyone else's day in the end. I've learned that already in the few months that I have been engaged. I would just like to say IF I WANT YOUR OPINION I'LL BEAT IT OUT OF YOU, ok? Getting married by Elvis in Vegas looks better everyday.
In 2001, I had the wonderful luck of being able to see three amazing concerts. I got to see the Monkees, Paul Simon & Brian Wilson, and Ringo Starr and his all-star band! For my 21st birthday (in 2002) I got to go see a Paul McCartney concert!!!!! Talk about heaven for Jaime! In 2003 I saw Ringo and his band again... another great show! I'm trying to see as many of my favorite artists as I can because I like all of the older stuff, and let's face it, these people are either going to be dying soon or retiring. But anyway, the concerts were sooo good, worth every dollar. And surprisingly, the Monkees had the most entertaining concert.
And speaking of the music I love, tragedy struck. George Harrison died! Not cool. People felt the need to make fun of me about it, assholes. I was very traumatized by this event, as a lot of Beatles fans were. As one person sort of put it (I don't remember the actual quote) "Pop's most influential era is truely fading into history". Kind of depressing when you think about it.
