YOU'VE GOT MAIL
7 Out Of 10 Stars
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are back for their third romantic film. Of
course, many people are complaining that these two just don't have the flame
that was there in there first film together. In my opinion, the flame is still
there, but the film just doesn't do too well in keeping that flame alive. You've
Got Mail is a romantic comedy. But the problem is, that's all it is, a romantic
comedy. So if you walk into the theater alone, you might fall asleep wishing
"I should have brought a date". But, if you did bring a date, the film will
be much more meaningful. So, a word of advice people, bring a date. Tom Hanks
and Meg Ryan still can act together, and do a great job of it. Jean Stapleton
of the hit comedy "All in the family" is good, but her role doesn't mean much
at all, it's seems like it was almost forced. Greg Kinnear (As Good As it Gets)
has an interesting role, which he pulls off well. But again, he's just another
cardboard character who doesn't mean a whole lot to the story. I'm not saying
he did a bad job of acting, it was very well actually. The music was mostly
the romantic piano style which fits well, and the many songs thrown in are
put in the right places at the right time, which makes for a good mix of
music. Basically, it's a dating film, so don't expect to see anything special if
you walk in the theater alone.
