THE MUMMY
7.5 Out Of 10 Stars
The summer is here, and to start it off, is the special effects
filled action adventure of "The Mummy". This film blasted past all expectations
garnering itself with the number one position at the box office. The story is
an interesting one, yet we’ve seen it somewhat before in films such as
"Indiana Jones". A mummy is resting quietly, but on accident is awoken by
a group of people. So naturally the mummy wants to take over earth, and our
heroes have to send the mummy back where it came from. The acting is pretty
much well done by everyone, but Bernard Fox (Titanic) does an excellent job,
but is unfortunately is in the film for only a brief period of time. The
special effects range from okay to fantastic. Some effects the crowd will
say "hey wait, that’s fake". But on other occasions, the crowd just sits
there with their mouths open wondering how they did that. The plot is nothing
great, but the comedic elements along with the effects keep the audience in
tune for the duration of the film. This film starts off what is going to be
one of the greatest summers in a long time. Go see it for a great thrill ride!
