What Dreams May Come
7 Out Of 10 Stars
This film wasn't as good as I first hoped it to be. The previews
that I saw in the theater and on television looked very promising, but the film
itself failed to shine. I'm not saying the movie was bad by any means, but I'm
not saying it's great either. The plot became very unstable, and the over use of
flashbacks became very tense to the audience. Many of the flashbacks were indeed
needed, but too many can become a hassle. The film also seemed to focus on
the special visual effects more than the characters. The special effects were
indeed close to perfection throughout the entire film. Robin Williams performance
was well done, but not as powerful as some of his other serious films (ex. Dead
Poets Society, Awakenings) The entire cast did a good job, nothing to complain
about there. The music was done well by Michael Kamen(Mr Hollands Opus). Sad
but true, one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, fails to deliver.
But still, it's better than your average movie.
