Chapter 6

The entire structure was a deep, and slightly ghastly, blue-green, and it was glowing. The whole thing seemed to flicker, just enough to make you wonder whether it was truly real. At first glance, it appeared solid, but then, as you continued to watch, it began to look translucent. The turrets and battlements occasionally seemed to flare up and dance the way a candle flame does when it meets a draft. The more you watched, the less definite it became. The building, the entire thing, was build of fire, blue fire.

To any of those who knew of her, there could be no doubt. This was the castle of the Mistress of the Blue Fire: Banshea.

"Here?" Shaunsha was shocked.

"Of course," Mikaia said as she walked in the main doors.

"Ahh, sisters," Banshea hissed with an eerie grin from where she sat with Lucifess and Demonita. "Have you come to join us?"

"Join you?" Mikaia asked.

"Yes, our cousins and I have allied. I asked you if you want to join us. Answer my question!"

"Banshea, you aren’t well!" Shaunsha began to plead.

"We will never join you!" Mikaia cried triumphantly.

Banshea chuckled. "I thought as much!"

"You know they would never see things our way!" Lucifess said.

"We should kill them!" Demonita added.

"No!" Banshea shouted at Demonita, but she immediately regained her composiure. She smiled as she placed one hand on Demonita, and one on Lucifess. "They can’t stop us!" Then, they were gone, Banshea had taken them away with the Pheonix Gate.

"No!" a familiar voice cried. Turning around, Mikaia and Shaunsha saw Lilah.

"Lilah!" they both shouted.

"Oops," said Lilah.

"I’m here too," Brooklyn said as he stepped out of hiding.

"What are you doing here?" Mikaia demanded.

"I," Brooklyn started as he tried to explain himself, "I wanted to help, and I didn’t want to go back to the castle and wonder what’s going on!"

"Fine," Mikaia said, "but why bring her?"

"I follwed Brookielyn!" Lilah beamed. "You need Shaunie an’ me, so I came too!" Mikaia rolled her eyes.

"We don’t need you, Lilah," Mikaia retorted.

"Yes, you do! Shaunie says you do!" Lilah said as she grabbed Mikaia’s hand, Shaunsha’s dress, and Brooklyn’s ankle with her hands and tail. "Time to go!"
