Becky (Vanessa Lee Chester)
Becky is a servant girl in Miss Minchin's Seminary for girls and already had a rather pessimistic view on life before Sara came to the school. At night while Sara was relaying tales with the characters from the Ramayana, Becky would listen at the door and wonder over her stories.
One day, while Sara is trying to calm down Lottie (Kelsey Mulrooney) who is another student at the school who is throwing a tantrum about not being able to see her deceased mother again, Becky eavesdrops on Sara's story about angels. After Sara finishes her story, she discovers that Becky has been listening in and tries to talk to her but Becky runs back to her room in the attic where Sara confronts her. Becky asks whether Sara needs anything and states that she went upstairs to change her shoes and Sara apologizes for interrupting her.
During one of the girls daily walks, Becky discovers a present from Sara in her room which happens to be a pair of new shoes.
Sara and Becky become even closer after Sara's father is declared killed in action and Sara is forced to live in the attic with Becky. In the beginning after Sara starts to lose hope, Becky manages to comfort her and they become good friends. After Sara discovers that her father is alive, Becky becomes Captain Crewes adopted daughter and they all return to India.
