Lavinia (Taylor Fry)
Lavinia is also another student in Miss Minchin's seminary for girls. She was the most popular
girl there before Sara came to the school. She is also not very liked by her fellow
classmates because of her selfish, proud and arrogant nature.
She soon becomes jealous of all the attention that the other girls give to Sara. After Sara becomes a
servant girl, Lavinia takes over her former bedroom and makes life difficult for Sara.
Sara soon becomes tired of Lavinia's stuck-up nature and makes Lavinia believe that a
curse has been cast upon her which will cause her to lose her hair.
Lavinia believes this after brushing her hair one night and discovers that a few hairs have
fallen out. This causes her to pass out and eventually realize that her behaviour towards Sara
and the others was selfish and unkind. Before Sara returns to India after discovering that her
father is still alive, Lavinia reconciles her differences with her and they become friends.
