The band was formed in Sayreville, NJ, in March 1983 and signed to Mercury Records, releasing its self-titled debut album in January 1984. The album reached the Top 100 and was followed by 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit (March 1985), which went gold. Bon Jovi achieved mass success with its third album, Slippery When Wet (August 1986), which topped the charts and sold nine million copies. The album featured the #1 singles "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Livin' on a Prayer" and the Top Ten hit "Wanted Dead or Alive." Bon Jovi's fourth album was New Jersey (September 1988), another chart-topper that sold five million copies and spawned five Top Ten hit singles including the #1's "Bad Medicine" and "I'll Be There for You." The group then went on hiatus while Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora made solo albums. It returned to action with Keep the Faith in November 1992, which hit the Top Ten, sold a million copies, and featured the Top Ten single "Bed of Roses." Crossroad, a greatest hits collection plus 3 new songs, was released on October 4, 1994. It sold two million copies, reached the Top Ten, and included the Top Ten gold single "Always." Their 7th and last album so far was "These Days"(1995) and it went platinum like all the others.

Jon Bon Jovi AKA John Bongiovi

Birth : Mar 2 , 1962 - Perth Amboy, NJ

Jon Bon Jovi spent the years from 1983 to 1988 establishing his hard rock band Bon Jovi as one of the most popular in the Western world with multi-platinum albums such as Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. He then put the band on hold and made a solo album, Blaze of Glory (July 1990), whose songs were inspired by the motion picture Young Guns II. Bon Jovi the band was reactivated with Keep the Faith in 1992, but after These Days in 1995 and short tour that followed everybody went their separate ways again to be back in .....1999! Yes, this is THE Bon Jovi year. They're back again!
