It took a tragic event to turn Liz's life around. After the former spoiled brat was raped in February, Lucky held her hand and slept on the floor next to her bed to make her feel safe. Out of this friendship, a slow, innocent romance developed.
Rebecca Herst (Liz) says her character is attracted to Lucky because "he's been extremely loyal to her, and she knows that he's not going to leave her side. Everyone in Elizabeth's life has left her in the dust. She's never had anyone stable in her life who promised they'd always be there. That's what Lucky has done."
Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) also feels that the characters share a deep bond. "they have an honest connection," he says. "It's good that they've taken it slowly, because of the rape. you have to respect where the chatacter is coming from. I really like the way that they've paced it. Liz and Lucky became incredibly close as people, and then the romance snuck in on them after that."
Herbst feels the same way. "They're playing this exstremely slow, and that's appropriate given what's happened." So far, the two have shared nothing more than some sexual tension and an occasional kiss. "We're suchgood friends, we feel comfortable giving each other a little kiss.....but nothing more. people like to see healthy situations when it's dealing with kids."
