Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky) won’t be returning to GH anytime soon. The 3-time Emmy winner currently is in Ireland filming a major role in The Smiling Suicide Club, a new Universal feature.

Suicide, which tells the story of three suicidal people( one of whom is played by Jackson), is being produced by Jim Sheridan, the director behind such acclaimed films as My Left Foot, and In the Name of the Father. “It’s an honor to work with Jim Sheridan,” Jackson tells SID. “In the Name of the Father is one of my favorite films.”

The actor jetted off to Ireland the day after he picked up his fourth consecutive Young Star Award (handed out by Hollywood Reporter) for his role of Lucky on GH. (His former co-star, Amber Tamblyn, took home the Young Actress Prize). “I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland,” says Jackson, adding it’s where one of his favorite bands calls home, “It’s where U2 is from.”

Jackson will have to learn an Irish accent for the film, which is something he’s, “always wantedto do,” he says.

Except for a three week Christmas break, Jackson will be in Irelnad shooting the film until early 2000. In other words, GH fans, he won’t have any time to make any pit stops in Port Charles. As a result, Jacob Young reportedly is being considered to take over the role of Lucky.
