Offscreen GH star Rebecca Herbst is a young woman who knows how to have fun the old fashioned way - surrounded by friends.

When she's notworking as Gh's young heroine Elizabeth Webber, Rebecca Herbst is happiest hanging out with her two best friends, Brigette and Johnny, like she did recently at a sprawling Malibu ranch. She's known Bridgette since the ninth grade, when the young woman befriended Herbst, who was the new kid in school."She keeps me laughing 24 hours a day," says an effusive Herbst of best buddy Bridgette. "She has so much spunk and spirit, she could light up a Christmas tree. She's always very honest and easygoing and would never do anything intentionally to hurt my feelings. She loves me unconditionally, and I feel the same way about her. Even if we don't talk for a week, the bond is still there - we're just busy."
Herbst met her other pal, Johnny, on a work-re-lated photo shoot while he was serving his first day as an assistant to photographer John Russo."He'd just moved out here from Kansas, and he mentioned that he'd had a full scholarship to play (college) baseball, so he really missed playing ball lately," recalls Herbst of their first meeting. "My dad plays baseball and basketball once a week, so my mom, who was there too, said, ‘My husband is always looking for new players and substitutes, so why don't I give you my number, and if you ever want to play, go ahead and give my husband a call.' SO he called my dad, and the next thing you know, I ended up on the phone with him for five hours. He's really so sweet, and he's become one of my best friends. His father is the most wonderful person for having raised Johnny so well. Johnny has so much respect and the same kind of morals and ethics that I've been raised with , so we really see eye-to-eye on everything. It's as if he were raised in my family."
Although Herbst sister, Jennifer, who often hangs out with the trio, couldn't make it to the ranch this particular day, the other three had a blast picnicking, playing with the rancher's dog, and horseback riding.
"I know I'm wearing an English riding outfit but I don't ride English style," says Herbst. "But I love to ride horses, and I want to come back here and ride again. It was really a great place, and it's run by the sweetest people. There was a really good vibe there."
