One would think these two kids have nothing to be thankful for this year, but they truly do. On Valentine's Day, young Elizabeth Webber was raped in the park. She was found by Lucky Spencer. A month or so later, Lucky learned that his father had raped his mother almost two decades ago, and the entire image he had of Luke was ruined forever. He left home and spent weeks living on the floor of Liz's bedroom until her grandmother, Audrey Hardy, discovered him. Liz had a hard time recovering from her rape and was convinced for a time that her English teacher, Mr. Murty, was the culprit. (He wasn't) Meanwhile, Lucky became convinced that he might have just as colatile a temper as his father and might end up raping a woman one day himself. It was Liz who convinced him that wouldn't happen. In return, it was Lucky who convinced Liz to go on because she still has so much to live for. Soon after, they took their first tentative steps toward romance. In a year where their lives have been turned upside down, these two teens should be thankful that they've found each other!
