GH's Lucky and Liz talk about their first kiss - and where their relationshil will go next!

Following in the tradition and footsteps of GH's powerhouse bounty of supercouples - from Robert and Anna Scorpio to Frisco and Felicia Jones - meet Port Charles' newest heirs to the Luke and Laura throne, Lucky and Liz. Here, in their own words, their portrayers, Jonathan Jackson, 16, and Rebecca Herbst, 21, try to explain their characters growing phenomeonon and why they like taking it nice and slow.

Now that this couple has shared their first romantic kiss on TV screens throughout the land and blownup tp movie-theatre proportions for all to see during ABC Super Soap Weekend at DisneyWorld, there's no denying the atttraction Lucky and Liz share with each other and with their loyal viewers. Everywhere the two stars went, they were greeted by crowds of adoring fans who wanted to know all. Whether up from at the Super Soap Theatre for Catherine Hicklans's talk shows or outside for sudience Q&A's, Jackson and Herbst were willing to answer everything they were asked!

Hicklans, playing talk show host extrodinaire for the weekend, started the ball rolling. When after showing the first Lucky and Liz kiss tpae to an auditorium full of viewers, she asked Jackson and Herbst if they were nervous about "doing hte first kiss" just like popelare when they have their first real life kiss.

Jackson immediate response upon seeing it was "wow", as Herbst giggled. "I just got so embarrassed watching it with him - it's huge." That it was - huge not only in size, but in impact. As for the actor's feelings, Herbst asmitted, "I was definitly nervous. Oh, yeah, I was looking forward to it. I was excited."

Jackson seconded those emotions. "Well, anytime you're kssing a beautiful woman you get nervous."

When asked about working with a younger co-star, Herbst said, "First of all, I don't see himas being younger. He's definitly my equal and I couldn't pray for a better partner." Jackson, at her side, smiled as the corwd cheered her answer, then joked, "I'll give you the money later."

Fans appreciated the nuances that makes this young love rrelationship so very sweet and special, picking up on the name only Lucky uses when he speaks of Liz. As in ture supercouple tradition (DAYS Bo's Fancy Face and Roman's Doc), Lucky calls Liz, Elizabeth. When asked why, Jackson asmits it was his idea. "I just made a decision that I wanted to call her Elizabeth. I don't know why. I really like the name. I think it's beautiful - and I also think she has a different relationship with him. Everyone else may call her Liz, but to him she's Elizabeth.

Another thing that everyione seems to appreciate is the pace this relationship is moving at. Jackson says, "One of the cool things about what they've donw with our characters on the show is that it's been a realy progression of the physicality of the relationship, espescially since Elizabeth was raped. I think it makes it a lot more real."

Cheers of approval from the audience and Hickland, who gives a thumbs up to the Liz and Lucky love story: "Love should be slow. Love is a friendship that caught fire. I think that' more romantic."

So does Jackson, who adds, 'There's a lot of the other side on TV, and to have some sort of balamce is cool."

Cool is certainly what it is, becuase this is one relationship that's as refreshingly honest as they come with characters as real and sweet as their protrayers.

As for what's ahead for Lucky and Li in the near future, Jackson would only say, "It's pretty open-ended. What we're doing, were going to continue with Lucky and Liz." But, happily Herbst offered this hint: "Something really special is going to happen between Lucky and Lizs at Christmas." To which, in ture soap traditions, Jackson exclaimed, "I don't even know about this!." 1
