Set in the early 90’s and starring the Caribbean King of comedy Oliver
Samuels, the Big Yard series of videos deals with the struggle of life
in a tenement yard in Kingston, Jamaica. Big Yard is described as one
of the funniest and liveliest comedy about life in Jamaica.

Oliver Samuels, who plays Merle is a household name throughout the
Caribbean and the Caribbean communities around the world. Merle who is
the local ‘haggler’ (seller of foreign goods) brings comic relief
through his daily interaction with his neighbors. Always ready to rage
a war of words against those who dare to antagonize him. But, between
putting his friends in their so called rightful place, Merle can easily
demonstrate his spirit of community and generosity.
Daisy, played by newcomer Sandra Lee lives daily for the return of her
boyfriend who is abroad. The boyfriend will eventually return bearing
gifts and surprises. And, oh what surprise it will be.
The rastaman, Mr. White, played by Cliff Makinson preaches love and
harmony amongst the community. As a follower of His Imperial Majesty
..... Jah, Mr. White is always out to get rid of the Babylon lifestyle.
