Yes...the rumors are true. My friend Cassandra and I did get the opportunity to meet Matt Damon, and here is how we did it...most people have said that we were insane, but nonetheless we did get to meet him and Billy Bob Thorton, so we were happy!

Billy Bob Thorton is currently directing a movie called "All The Pretty Horses." Back in like March, or April, they brought the production to San Antonio to do some filming. Not all of it was shot here, but a good portion of it was from what I understand. A lot of the landscape shots and stuff like that was shot in New Mexico, and I am sure in other places as well.

Anyways...one day they had decided to film at a bar in downtown San Antonio called "Cadillac Bar." (<-- I am sorry if I misspelled that!) So around 11 am or so, Sanni and I decide to meet up during our lunch breaks downtown and see if we would be able to be catch some of the filming and hopefully get to meet Matt Damon. It was a closed set, so we sat outside the bar with many other people on their lunch breaks...also hoping to get to see the celebrities.

Instead of meeting the celebrities themselves...we did get to meet Henry Thomas's and Matt Damon's body double...

Asides from meeting their body doubles, we also be-friended (<-- is that a word??) one of the assistant producers while we were waiting. He kept us well-informed of what was going on, and when they were scheduled to be done filming. Around 4 o'clock they were done filming at the bar, and without consulting us first...lol...they took Matt Damon and Billy Bob Thorton away from the set! HOW RUDE! ;o) Just kidding...it was because they were moving locations..and had to do some filming at another place.

BUT..just when we thought that our chances were over...our assistant producer friend..let's just call him Sam (to protect his identity...so he doesn't get in trouble! Not that anyone reading this would even know who he was, but ya never know!!). Ok...so Sam told us that they took Matt to eat dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse a few blocks away, and then they would be shooting at a few blocks from the restaurant..and we would see his limo. So, we said thanks, and started walking to our car. We turned around just to look back at the set, and Sam was laughing at us. So we started to doubt him, and what he had told us. Because of this doubt he gave us a map to the next location that they were going to be filming.

We got to the next filming location just as the crew was starting to eat lunch/dinner themselves. We had decided not to interrupt Matt's lunch/dinner because we thought it would have been rude. So, while we were waiting at the studio...everyone came out to eat lunch, and Sam's friend Mike (let's say) asked us if we saw Billy Bob Thorton?? And we said no, because we hadn't seen him. So Mike went into the lunch room and asked Billy Bob if he could come and sign some autographs for us, and he said yes. He came and talked to us, and was so completely nice about the whole thing!!! He told us that Matt should be back sometime soon, but they were on a schedule, so we would have to wait if we wanted to talk to him. We were willing to wait. :o) Here is the pic of us with Billy Bob Thorton...

Sam did take us on a tour of the set while the crew was eating their dinner. That was completely amazing...I had never scene a really movie set before, and he explained the difference between props and set dressings. It was COMPLETELY awesome!!! He didn't need to do that, but he did, and we greatly appreciated it! :-)

After a few hours of being there, the whole crew pretty much knew who we were, and they were just laughing at how persistant we were. It was about 6 or 7 by this time, and we had started this little escapade around like 11 that morning. A little while later it started to rain...and that was followed by these little abnoxious girls who were being so tactless about the whole thing...but that's another story that I will not get into here!

Anyways...somewhere around 8 pm Matt Damon came off the set, and said that he had one more scene to do, and then he would be back out to talk to us. He also mentioned that he knew that we had been out there pretty much all afternoon! Wow...we were totally excited..I mean we had already been there for like 9 hours...what was one more?? And sure enough...after 10 hours of waiting...Sanni and I finally got to meet Matt Damon, and here are the pictures from that night! ;o) Keep in mind we had been rained on and everything else...so I am sure we are not looking our best!

Well that was my experience meeting Matt Damon. And while most of you would think that we are completely crazy for waiting 10 hours to meet him...I don't think we were. A little tired, maybe, but certainly not crazy...it's Matt Damon!! It was worth it...and we even got to meet Billy Bob Thorton which was an added bonus! ;o)
