In a film about two lovers destined for each other, writer Marc Lawrence uses a cooky twist to move the plot along in this fun romantic comedy. The film starts with Ben having two days to get from New York City to Savannah for his wedding. Things are smooth sailing as he meets an intriguing woman on board. Sarah's (Sandra Bullock) smart, but a little strange as they're relationship launches. However, as things begin to prgress, the flight just happens to have some technical difficulties and Ben (Affleck) ends up saving this lovely, wierd girl, who's overwhelmingly greatful. As a result, she becomes his faithful companion in traveling south for his wedding. As things unfold however, Sarah and Ben grow rather close, and they suddenly find themselves sharing mutual feelings of lust, and love.

In this unbelievably realistic romantic comedy about two young adults discovering the magnitude of true love, we're taken on a journey in which both Ben and Sarah allow the forces of nature to do all the work. Although this film was rather creatively produced, it's cooky, but stylish. I really enjoyed it although I can make a slight criticism that several scenes were a little off-base and could have been approached differently. Nevertheless, Forces of Nature provides an entertaining two hours. They also did a really nice job in developing things, and the writers used irony as tool to prevent this flick from being as predictable as it could have been. And... there are the stars of the show...

While I said in my pre-watch comments, I was eager to see weather or not Sandra Bullock could actually pull off being weird, she did it, and with style may I add! While it's unexpected, but adds a lot to the plot, the writers portrayed her with two marraiges, and a son. This unexpected sub-plot explained a lot of how she acted, and made us really understand her as a character. Sandra did a superb job in making us feel for Sarah, and desire her happiness. She also showed us through her uncaring exterior that on the inside, she had some sense; the kind of sense that a mother would have. In a scene that came almost unexpectedly, but perfectly executed, she comments "Ok Ben. So what do you really know about me? You've known me for two days. TWO DAYS! And your willing to scratch your wedding plans for that?" Although that quote may be a little off, she said something to that extent and it was brought on very sensibly. In several other gripping scenes, you also see the depth of her character, and the insecurities she posesses brought on by unavoidable life experience. Overall, I applaud Sandra because quite frankly, I didn't think she could pull it off. It's actually one of the first good, and I mean actually good films that Sandra Bullock has made in a while and I think she should be proud of it.

As for Ben Affleck, he too, did a nice job. While at times you wanted to scream at him for being attracted to another woman other than his fiance Bridgett, he presented his character really nicely. You see his guilt, his pain, and you can really understand that all the things that were happening and his behavior as a result of it, was because he was nervous; scared of taking that step of faithfulness. He also brings off his character with class. Playing a mild mannered typical Clark Kent nice guy, his preformance really helps to explain his actions; he shows us that his entire life has been picturesque, but all of the sudden, things go hay-wire and he reacts based on the suffusion. All in all, it's a solid preformance.

Generally speaking, Forces of Nature has it's own style, and appeal. While the big names draw in the crowds, it's the overall structure of the movie which makes it one to remember. The cooky appeal, good acting, and interesting plot add much to the experience and I highly recommend this nice teen flick.
