You've Got Mail!

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Dawson's Creek characters and am not making any money from this (I wish) so don't sue me for all the 23 cents I'm worth, I'm begging you.

Author's Note: Whew, I haven't written in a long time. It was me, laziness, and homework, the lethal combination. Well, also, the email addys below are FAKE, do not email them, please! Sorry for the wait folks, but here goes....

"Jennifer, come here!" Grams called from the living room where she was sifting through the mail that had just arrived.
"Be right there, Grams!" Jen yelled back from her upstairs bedroom.
Jen glided down the stairs and into the living room. Grams promptly handed her a small stack of envelopes, mostly college brochures and advertisements. Smiling, Jen went back to her room.
Ever since the end of freshman year, and the end of her hopes of ever being with Dawson, Jen had been searching for a way out of Capeside. She dumped the small pile of mail onto the brown wooden desk in her room and sat down in the matching chair.
Jen pulled a large manilla folder out from a drawer and added these brochures to her ever-growing collection. USC, UC Berkeley, Stanford, she had brochures from schools as far away from Capeside as possible. The only way she knew how to deal with the hurt inside her was to run away.
It wasn't like Jen's social life had a complete break down after the loss of Dawson, she was "dating" Cliff, but wasn't quite content. She just wanted to get away from it all, permanently.
A half an hour later, after reading and evaluating her newest college information, Jen logged onto her computer. It was a white laptop with a modem and disk drive that her parents had given her last Christmas. They hadn't bothered to ask her to come home for Christmas. No, the shame would be to much for them and their socialite friends.
After typing in her screen name and password Jen heard the words "You've Got Mail!". She smiled happily and clicked on the mail box icon. Her eyes hungrily scanned the list of new messages and finally seeing one she wanted to see, opened it.

Hey Jen, Joey, Pacey,
I'd really appreciate your help with my new movie idea. As I have recieved no reply from the Boston Film Festival Critics, I'm assuming my Sea Monster Movie bombed (it wasn't that bad, was it?).
My new movie idea will be revealed Saturday (aka, tomorrow) at 10:00 AM. I'd really appreciate it if you guys could take up some of the roles, I really need the help. Reply ASAP.
P.S. Can you think of anyone else who may be able to help?
Dawson

End of Message

Jen smiled at Dawson's message. It seemed that now he had a renewed interest in his movie making, which was good or bad depending on which way you were looking at it. Although Jen wasn't looking forward to playing another character in Dawson's movies, she decided to go check it out. After all, they were still her friends.
Jen clicked on the reply button and began to type.

Dawson,
I'd be glad to help. Just assure me that there are no screaming scenes as there were last time. Just kidding. I'll see you tomorrow!

Dawson was still unsure of his relationship with Joey. Ever since Jack had kissed her, and she had lied, he had felt that something was lost. It wasn't that he did not want her back, he certainly did, but now it was as if she didn't want him back. The still talked now and then, movie nights were...well..nearly the same.
Sighing, Dawson booted up his large IBM computer. He quickly logged onto his mail service, but before he could load the page he recieved an IM from Joey.

JyPotter: Hey Dawson
DnLeery: Hey Jo, how are you?
JyPotter: Other than that stupid econ project, pretty good, u?
DnLeery: LOL, so can you come over tomorrow?
JyPotter: Yeah, I think, probably.
DnLeery: I'm taking that as a yes.
JyPotter: Dawson, is everything okay between us?
DnLeery: Why wouldn't everything be okay? Our relationship is just...peachy.
JyPotter: Peachy? Dawson, I thought you were in your post Wonder Years stage. This is a giant step back for you.
DnLeery: Thanks, Joey. Since when did you become a psychologist?
JyPotter: Since you went insane, if I'm calculating correctly, since I met you.
DnLeery: Just don't tell my parents, like we need more problems over here.
JyPotter: Dawson, what's wrong?
DnLeery: Things are just getting worse and worse...
JyPotter: Wanna talk about it?
DnLeery: Not particularly, let's talk about something else. How are your art classes going?
JyPotter: Great. I really love it, Dawson. Kind of like the way you love film making.
DnLeery: Really? That's great Jo. Sorry, but I gotta go....cya tomorrow at 10.
JyPotter: I'll be there. Bye.
DnLeery has signed off

Joey frowned at the radiating computer screen in front of her. She and Dawson had been talking, just like old times, maybe things were getting back to normal. The way they should be.

To Be Continued...

You've Got Mail: Part Two
What will happen? Not another bad movie from Dawson! What will happen with Dawson and Joey? Pacey and Joey? Jen and Dawson? Jen and Pacey? So many questions, so little time to write. A sequel very very very very very soon, I promise...sort of. Mail me with comments at JoeyPacey@hotmail.com.
