Note: You may enter as many times as you would like.Welcome to the Worf Dax Fanfic Archive's second annual fanfic contest. Here is your chance to show off your talent for writing fanfic. This year's theme is "Finish That Scene." What does that mean? Well, pick a favorite episode of yours featuring either Worf, Jadzia or Ezri, and expand upon that episode. Please note the rules below before entering.
Eligible Fanfic Categories
You may submit stories in the following categories:Eligible Fanfic Styles
- Worf/Dax fanfic: Yes, this includes Worf/Jadzia fanfic as well as Ezri/Worf fanfic.
- Ezri fanfic: Stand-alone Ezri stories; Stories with Julian will be accepted also.
- Archivist's Challenge: "Finish That scene": Fanfic based on any episode from Deep Space Nine. Rewrite a scene or expand a scene or trace the thoughts of Worf, Ezri, or Jadzia in your story.
- Stories up to 5,000 words
- Poetry
- Adult stories up to 5,000 words
- Parodies up to 5,000 words
Note: Stories longer
than 5,000 words will have to be broken up into separate sections by the
author, otherwise they will not be entered into the contest.
What Is Not Eligible
So what stories aren't eligible for this contest?
Well, for one - stories that are already
archived on this site. So if you have already submitted a story to
this site, I will not enter it in the contest. That wouldn't be fair. However,
this does not apply to stories that have been published on other sites
- if they fit into one of the three above categories.
Contest Timeline
The timeline is everchanging due to the fickle nature of "Real Life" (tm). But I have settled on the following schedule (though I reserve the right to change the timeline at anytime - in your favor).
Submission Guidelines
- Entries will be accepted July 1, 2000 through October 1, 2000.
- Voting runs through October 5, 2000 - November 5, 2000
- A winner will be announced in each category as well as an overall winner on November 10, 2000 (this is subject to change, depending on how many votes come in and also depending, once again, on "Real Life" issues (tm))
All submissions should be emailed to wdfa@yahoo.com with the words "Contest Submission" in the subject line. In the body of the email, please clearly state the following:
Well, what do I win?
- Your name
- Your email address
- Story title
- Category your entry fits in
- A brief description of the story
There will be a winner in each category and one overall grand prize winner. It is possible that a category winner will also be the grand prize winner.
The winner of each category will receive a nifty graphic to place on their site and also mention of their win on this site. The below graphic will be customized for the winner of the award.
