The Choices We Made

By Noelle Morrow

Set during DS9's early 5th season, with almost no regard to official events. In short, I made it all up. I never liked the idea of having Worf living on the Defiant, so, in this story, he doesn't.

"It's pretty late, Jadzia "

She rolled her eyes, "Yes, Julian, I know. Go back to sleep."

Julian Bashir sat up in bed, "Where were you?"

Jadzia began changing into her night clothes, "On the station," she replied sarcastically.

He sighed, "Why do you have to be so difficult?"

"Why do you have to be nosy?"

"You're my wife, Dax, I thought I had a right to know "

"I was in Quark's if you must know. Worf and I had drinks after work, then when he went home I joined a late game of Tongo with a group of Ferengii. Satisfied?" Dax wasn't being totally truthful to him. She and Worf did have drinks after work, but when he went home, she accompanied him. They stayed up all night talking, and to Jadzia's disappointment, nothing happened between them besides that.

Julian decided not to argue with her. This was normal for the two of them. Wedded bliss was barely tolerable, it had been that way for a while now. He turned over and tried to go back to sleep. He felt her quietly slide in bed, and she was quiet for a long time.

"I'm sorry Julian," Dax tried to sound sincere. She rubbed his arm gently.

"Of course you are."

Jadzia nuzzled her nose in his neck, "Come on, Julian "

"Don't, just, go to sleep."

"Fine, fine, don't say I didn't try."

She rolled back over and let her eyes closed. This isn't my life, Jadzia thought to herself. This can't be. Four years ago, after knowing him for only six months, we got married. She thought back to when they first met, on the transport to their new assignment on DS9. Jadzia thought he was cute, and he was obviously eagerly attracted to her. Dax was still adjusting to the new body, and was very much still Curzon. So, they became friends, went out a few times, made out in the turbolift, and soon sex entered the dating equation.

Five months after they met, Jadzia was pregnant. After being Curzon for seventy years, Dax had forgotten about the monthly doses of fertility suppressant that a woman had to take when having sex. But, what was done was done, and, when he found out, Julian proposed marriage. At first, Jadzia thought it was preposterous. Then, her responsibilities as a joined Trill kicked in. She thought it would be best for a joined Trill to lead a family life rather than become a single parent.

At first, their marriage was good. They had the prospects of having a baby, it made them come together. He'd put his head on her stomach, and she'd call him Daddy. Then, the worse thing imaginable happened. They lost the one thing that bonded them together. Jadzia in a shuttle accident while she and Julian were en route to Rebrin IV. The craft crashed on the surface of Rebrin's third moon. Jadzia was knocked unconscious after a beam fell on her abdomen. Julian was able to save Jadzia and the symbiont, but it was too late for their child.

The death of their son, posthumously named Daniel Bashir, brought them closer together. They mourned together, they were inseparable, and it seemed that even without Daniel, their marriage would work out wonderfully. That is, until they began to get over their son. Now, four years later, they barely even held a conversation with one another. They'd grown apart instead of together. He spent time doing his own things, and she did hers. They couldn't remember the last time they made love, and the words, "I love you," hadn't been spoken for months.

Jadzia lied there, her eyes were now wide open. She got into this marriage to maintain a perfect joined Trill existence, the type of thing she's heard about all through initiate training. *There are certain things a joined Trill just does not do*, she could remember her instructor saying to her.

"I can't do this," she whispered, "I can't do this."

When Jadzia woke up the next morning, her husband was already gone. She didn't have duty for another two hours, and decided to head to the replimat for breakfast. Her hope was that she'd spot her favorite raktajino partner. For her first three years on DS9, that was Benjamin, but at the beginning of last year, she found a new one. Not to say she didn't spend time with Ben, her best friend, but this new person fulfilled her in a different way.

"Worf!"

The Klingon was on his way into Quark's when he turned and saw Jadzia, the woman who had been his best friend since he arrived on the station. Without hesitation, he turned around and took a seat with her, "Good morning."

"Well, you seem unusually cheerful."

"It happens, not often, but, occasionally."

Jadzia smiled, "Well, I wish it would happen to me."

Worf frowned, "Are you okay?"

"Am I ever okay? Don't worry about me, it's just the usual domestic strife that seems to rule my life."

"Another fight?"

"Not exactly. I would have preferred a fight, silent treatment and avoidance is much worse. I know he doesn't like it when I spend so much time away from home."

Worf looked down for a moment, "Perhaps he is right, Jadzia. You are his wife, if I were in his situation, I would not be thrilled about you spending so much time with another man, even if he were just a friend."

Dax smiled inwardly, *If you were my husband*, she thought, *I wouldn't spend a second away from home*, "You're probably right," she thumbed her cup and stared at the dark brown drink, "I just, I can't live the rest of my life like this. I," Jadzia took a deep breath, "I don't love him. I never did."

Worf didn't know what to say. He knew what he *wanted* to say, but honor prevented that. She was so lovely, she did not deserve to be as unhappy as she was. There were times, times like last night, times like right now, when he wanted to wrap her up in his arms and keep her for himself.

"Perhaps you should be talking to Dr. Bashir about this," he said lowly.

"I don't *like* to talk to him."

"He *is* your husband. If you want things to stay that way, you need to talk to him."

"That's just it. I don't know if I want things to stay that way."

This was getting a little too personal. Deep in Worf's heart, he wanted her, he dreamed about being the comfort and love that she needed so desperately, but he knew that it would be wrong to do anything but to encourage her to rebuild her marriage. Even if he wanted to tell her to get out of it, he would not.

Worf stood, "I need to get to ops "

Dax smiled up at him, "Thank you for listening to me, you never once complain."

"I could listen to you forever," Without thinking, Worf touched the back of his hand to her cheek. She closed her eyes, relishing in his caring touch. After realizing what he was doing he pulled away, "I am sorry, I "

Dax wrapped her hands around his, "Don't apologize. I needed that."

Worf looked at her beautiful smile for a moment, and then, he left.

Once he was gone, Jadzia settled back in her chair and squeezed her eyes closed. She felt more affection in that gentle touch than she had felt from her husband in months. A single tear fell down her cheek. *I want him*, she kept repeating that phrase over and over in her mind. She wanted Worf so much, it hurt. To feel his strong arms hold her, to hear his rich bass voice tell her how much he loved her, just the thought made her cry. With her hands over her face, Jadzia quickly disappeared into the turbolift so she could cry in private.

"Be careful, the ganglionic nerve "

"I see it," Julian said quietly.

"Okay. I'm about to open the eukaryotic nucleus."

Bashir lifted his head from the microscope and blinked his eyes, trying to adjust them to normal room light. He and Dr. Erinna Preston were working on an vaccine they'd developed together. She transferred to DS9 a month ago from the Wellington, and the two of them instantly clicked. She shared his interest in cellular biology, and she'd turned him on to curing genetic diseases.

"There," Erinna deactivated her microscope, "Now we wait. We should have some results by morning."

"Good, good. So, um "

She ran her hand through her short red hair and studied Julian for a moment. He was so amazingly complicated, he'd intrigued her from the moment they met last month. But, only hours after that meeting, Erinna learned that the handsome doctor was married, had been that way for almost four years now. Erinna had no intention of taking on the title "homewrecker," but it was hard when Julian was always inviting her to dinner, to springball competitions, or to just watch the ships dock at one of the upper pilons. She stood there in the infirmary for a moment, wondering where he was going to invite her today.

"Dinner tonight?"

She smiled, "Shouldn't you be going home, to your *wife*?"

"Aah, yes. My wife."

"Yes, Julian, I'm sure our spending so much time together doesn't sit too well with her. And, I've met Commander Dax, she's very intimidating, and I'd hate to evoke her wrath."

"Jadzia doesn't even know about us. She spends a lot of time with a certain friend of hers as well."

"Maybe it isn't my place to say this, but, if she doesn't like spending time with you, and you don't like spending time with her, why are you still married?"

"That's a good question," Julian said, "I wish I had an answer.

"I value our friendship, Julian, and I can't help but notice it escalating to another level. I'm going to be honest, I want to be more than you're friend. But, you're not in a position to make that happen, and I'm not going to be the other woman. So, if you ever do get out of your dead end marriege, we can talk," she sighed, "I'll see you tomorrow morning," she pushed passed him and left.

Bashir decided to take a walk. Erinna's words made him think about a lot of things. Jadzia was his wife. He knew that they'd been drifting apart, and Julian knew he couldn't let that happen. They had been so close when they had the baby to think about, maybe having another child would bring them back together. He had been in love with Jadzia, and it did hurt to know that lovw was dying. When he asked her to marry him, it wasn't just because she was pregnant, he was in love with her.

Julian turned around and headed for him. Jadzia was his wife, and she was going to stay that way. Things were good once, and they could go back to being that way. All they had to do was work at it.

****

When Jadzia came home, her husband was there. She wasn't expecting to see him, but he was there. He was sitting at their table, eating and reading a padd, "Good evening," she said.

"Hi."

"Can I join you?"

Julian was shocked, "You want to have dinner with *me*?"

"Don't sound so surprised, I don't hate you, you know."

He chuckled, "That's a relief. I was beginning to wonder."

"So, then I'm not the only one who sees that we have a problem."

"No. I'm glad you brought this up, I think we should talk."

"So do I," she began, "I want to tell you that " Jadzia let out a shaky breath, she'd been practicing this all day, yet it just wouldn't come out. She paced the room, "I'm leaving you."

"Excuse me? You're *what*?!"

"Don't act like this is a such a shock. It's not like it's the end of some wonderful relationship."

This hit him like a ton of bricks. This wasn't at all how he wanted this talk to go, "Let me guess, you and your new best friend Commander Worf decided this was a good idea."

"No. Worf's always suggested that you and I stay together, that we work things out. This isn't about him, it's about us. We got in this for all the wrong reasons, and I think it's time to get out. There is no more love here, as far as I'm concerned, there never was."

"You *never* loved me? Even when you were pregnant?"

"I married you *because* I was pregnant, Julian, I thought it was the right thing to do. I was never in love with you, I knew that from the start."

Julian stood and faced her, "I *loved* you, Dax, I still do."

"Let's not make this harder than it is. Nothing you say can change my decision. It's over, Julian. I think its better that we end this right now, while we can still tolerate the sight of one another."

"I can't believe you're doing this. We're *married*, Jadzia, we should try to work this out?"

"I don't want it to work, I want it to end. I'm *miserable*. I feel like I'm wasting my life. And if you must know, I am very much in love with someone else."

"Worf."

"Yes," she admitted, "But I have never been unfaithful to you. He doesn't know how I feel about him, and even if he did, he wouldn't act on it. It hurts like hell to be so in love with him, and to know that I can never be with him. The decision you and I made was not the best one. All we had was our son, and when he died, our marriage went with him."

Julian took several deep breaths, trying to let it all sink in.

"So what are we going to do now?" he asked quietly.

"I'll move out. We can get a formal divorce from the magistrate whenever we're ready."

He flopped down on the couch, "That's it? Four years of marriage gone, just like that?"

"Just like that."

"And after it's officially over, then what? Do we become buddies, pals, old chums? How do we respond to one another?"

"We try to be as adult about things as we can, and we try to as sensitive to the other person's emotions as possible."

"That's easier said than done."

"I think I should go now, we can talk more about this later, after it's sunk in."

Julian didn't say anything else, and neither did she. It was over.

***

"Enter."

Jadzia stepped inside Commander Worf's quarters after hearing him usher her in. Her eyes were red, it was clear that she'd been crying, "What happened, are you alright?"

"I left him. I just told Julian I was leaving him, and I left."

Worf was silent for a moment, inwardly telling himself not to take advantage of this situation, "What are you going to do now?"

"I don't know," She squeezed her eyes shut and stepped inside and closer to him, "I just don't want to be alone right now."

Worf pulled her into his arms and held her there, just as he had yearned to do for so long. She cried on his shoulder, and he held her, fondly stroking her dark hair and letting their bodies gently sway together. Dax was free of her husband, it was what Worf secretly wanted every since he met her.

"You do not have to be alone," he whispered to her, "Stay here tonight."

"Okay," she lifted her head and faced him, "Thank you."

His fingertips wiped the tears from her flushed face. He could feel his lips part slightly, they had never been this close, and it was very compelling. Jadzia reached up and brushed his lips with her fingers. *One kiss wouldn't hurt*, she thought to herself, *Besides, I'm not with Julian anymore*. She let her fingers continue to explore lines in his face until she felt his hand tip her chin upward, and thier lips finally met.

It was soft, gentle, and too damnably short. Just as soon as it happened, Worf stopped it,

"No, not now. This is not the right time for you."

"Shouldn't I be the judge of that?"

"I do not want to push you into anything too soon."

"I've wanted you for so long " Dax pleaded.

"As have I," he admitted, "And it will not hurt either us to wait a little longer. You're emotions are erratic right now, and I do not want you to do anything you might regret."

Jadzia nodded, "Fair enough. Is that invitation to stay the night still open?"

"Of course. I can sleep on the couch "

"No, I'm the one imposing, I can "

He silenced her by placing his index finger on her lips, still moist from his kiss, "I insist."

Her lips puckered to kiss his finger, "Thank you."

***

Julian sat on the couch for at least two hours, staring at the door Jadzia had just walked out of. It was over. A few days ago, if she'd come to him, deciding to end their marriage, his only regret would have been that he didn't end it first. But now, her announcement came like a bucket of water upon the flames that he'd hoped to rekindle.

One thing was certain, he didn't want to sit there alone all night. He needed something, maybe Quark's famed Vulcan Love Slave program. No, that was slightly pathetic. He wondered what Jadzia was doing right now. No doubt she was nestled in the arms of her Klingon lover.

"Computer, locate Lt. Commander Dax."

"Lt. Commander Dax is in Lt. Commander Worf's quarters."

"Ahh, I see," Julian said aloud, "So I was supposed to believe that little bit about you being faithful even though you were so in love with him? Yeah well, if you're spending the night with someone, then so am I."

****

Erinna knew this was a mistake, and it probably would do more harm than good. But, when Dr. Bashir called to her, she came to his quarters immediety. The door was unlocked, and she invited herself in, "Doctor?"

"I'm in here."

She followed his voice to find in in his bedroom. He was standing in front of the window, gazing out.

"What's wrong?"

"She left me. She came to me today and told me that our marriage was over. She's gone."

Erinna came up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, "I'm so sorry, Julian."

"Don't be. She's been cheating on me, right now she's with another man."

"This must be terrible for you "

He turned to face her, "It is. And I didn't want to have to go through it alone."

"You shouldn't have to. I told you I'd be here for you when you were ready."

"I am. I need you, Erinna," Julian pulled her body to his and kissed her. He didn't think about how he really felt for her, he knew there was no love between them. All he really wanted to do was hurt Jadzia. She was probably in bed with Worf right now, and Julian wasn't going to be tossed away like and old shoe.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" she asked breathlessly between kisses.

"It is. I need to love you tonight. I know you want me, I've seen it in your eyes."

"I do," she whispered, "But it may be too soon "

"No, it's been over between us for months, tonight was just an official end, and okay for us to move on to other people. She certainly has."

"I feel so sorry for you. I would never hurt you like that."

They kissed again, "I know. You're a much better woman than she, I, I think I love you."

"You do?"

"Yes," Julian knew this was wrong, but Erinna's feelings weren't exactly a priority, "I love you, I want to be with only you."

She began to take off her uniform, and in seconds she stood naked before him, "Make love to me," she whispered sensually. Without hesitation, he obeyed.

****

"How do you feel?"

Worf's voice startled Jadzia. She'd just come out of his shower and was towling her wet hair. Her body was scantily clad in a white bath towel, and his voice gave her goose- bumps,

"Worf, I thought you'd left for work."

"I had, but I came back to check on you. I hope you do not mind."

"No, no, it's fine. I'm okay, I guess. I really want to thank you for letting me to stay here. I'll be in my own place tonight, I won't have to bother you anymore."

"You are no bother, Dax."

Worf tried not to let the fact that this woman, this wonderfully gorgeous woman was standing paces from his bed, dripping wet, and covered only in a towel effect him. They held each other's gaze for a moment until she spoke up, "I'm going home to get my things, hopefully Julian will be in the infirmary, I don't feel like a confrontation right now."

"Perhaps I should go and let you get dressed."

"Before you do," Jadzia padded across the room and stood before him. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed him. Worf's arms encircled her waist and he pressed her body tightly against his own. This kiss lasted a lot longer than their first, and as she maneuvered in his embrace, she could feel her towel loosening. The knot had come undone, and Jadzia knew that when she pulled away, it would fall to the floor. She inwardly smiled, *Maybe that wouldn't be so bad*.

"My towel is falling," she whispered, her lips brushing his.

"What?"

"If you step back, it'll be on the floor."

"Well can't you lift it "

"Uh uh," she said, though it wasn't true. She could easily re- wrap it, but that wasn't what she had in mind, "I want *you* to do it."

"Dax "

"Either you put it back on, or I walk around naked."

He sighed, realizing her intentions. Jadzia placed her hands on her hips and stepped back, letting the white mass fall to the ground. Worf did not react to her nakedness, purposefully not letting her know how turned on he was, "You can walk around naked if you wish."

His repsonse amused her, and she smiled, "I just might take you up on that one day,"

Jadzia bent over and picked up the towel, covering herself again, "I'm glad to see that you aren't easily beguiled by the flesh. It's a weakness that gets most men in a lot of trouble."

"Who says I am not?" he answered.

Worf let his words linger a moment before leaving. Once he was gone, she crossed her arms and let a large smile form on her face, "Now *that's* a man," she said aloud, "An intriguing, unpredictable man. Do you hear me, Julian Bashir? That man could fulfill me, not you and your meaningless banter about trivial things, or your immature sexual attractions."

****

After getting dressed, Jadzia headed for her old home. She'd been living in these quarters for four years, but that was over now. She had her own place on level 16, section O, not- so- coincidentally close to Mr. Worf's quarters. This was a lot harder than she thought it would be, but, it was time to get on with her life, and to leaven her disgusting marriage in the past.

Jadzia keyed in the entry code, and her old door slid open. All the lights were on, which was unusual, Julian always turned them out before he left for the infirmary.

"We should be at work, Julian," came a female voice.

"There are a lot of things I *should* be doing," Jadzia recognized that voice as her husband's.

The female voice giggled, "Come on, get up. I'm heading for the shower you can join me if you'd like."

Julian laughed with her, "In a few minutes, okay," Jadzia heard them kiss, "I'll be right back."

"Don't be too long."

This was unbelievable. Jadzia stood in their living room, waiting for Julian to emerge. In seconds he did, wearing his night shorts and looking extremely embarrased,

"Dax, what are you doing here?" he tried to sound casual.

"I came home to get my things, I thought you'd be at work. Julian *what* is going on here? Who is that in there?"

"Erinna Preston, one of the doctors "

"Did you sleep with her?!" she demanded.

He didn't hesitate, "Yes."

His words hit her like a slap in the face. She was speechless, their marriage bed wasn't even cold and he had someone else in it! True, there really was no love lost in their break up, but just the thought that only hours later he was with another woman

"Don't look so surprised Dax, it's not like *you* spent the night alone."

"Excuse me?"

"I know about your night with Mr. Worf."

Jadzia folded her arms, "And you think we slept together?"

"I *know* you did."

"Well, you know what? I *did* sleep in his bed, all night. But the thing you don't know, is Worf slept on the couch, all night."

"I'm supposed to *believe* that?"

She sighed, "You believe what you want. I don't know why I'm letting this bother me, our marriage didn't just end yesterday, it's been over a long time."

"You can come back later for your things, I'll be out of here in an hour."

"Fine," Without another word, she left.

****

The weeks passed, and Julian and Jadzia slowly learned to adjust to another. It wasn't easy, they spent most of their time avoiding instead of building a friendship, but that was to be expected. The actual divorce was swift and callous, rather symbolic of their marriage. They went their separate ways, not once looking back.

Things, though, weren't progressing as Jadzia had hoped. She and Worf grew further apart, not by any of her doing, he was always too busy to talk, or he had some work to finish. All they had shared were two wonderful kisses and that was it. She could't help but think that he was hiding from something, that he was denying his feelings for some outrageous reason.

Worf thought he was doing the best thing. He did not want to put her back into a situation that would make her unhappy, he wasn't sure how to proceed, and he has no idea how to express what he was feeling. Dax made him happier than he had ever been with a woman, but Worf was clueless as to how to let her know. He knew the Klingon thing to do would be to just tell her, but that prospect was more frightening than facing a room of Jem'Hadar soldiers.

After they'd shared their kisses, everytime he looked at her, he wanted her. Sure, he'd wanted her before they kissed, but it was more intense now, now that he had a taste of what it was like to hold her in his arms. He'd seen her naked, and everytime he caught a glimpse of her alluring figure walking away, he thought of that, and wanted to make passionate love to her.

Worf took a deep breath. He had been on his way home, but instead took a detour to Dax's quarters. She wasn't far, and once he got there, he stood outside them for ten whole minutes, trying to talk himself into this.

"Enter."

He silently stepped in, "Jadzia "

She had been sitting at her table playing Joran's piano and finishing a composition of his, "Worf," it shocked her that he was even here, it must be business, "What can I do for you?"

"Can you and I talk?"

"Um, sure," Jazia stood from the table and sat on her couch. Worf continued pacing her room, "Is something wrong?"

"No. Yes. Not exactly."

"Okay "

"This is not easy for me to say."

"Just say it, don't worry about how it sounds. You know me, Worf, I'll just listen."

"I love you," he blurted, "I wish to be with you."

"You love me?"

"Yes. I realize this probably puts you in an awkward situation, perhaps it would have been best if I hadn't brought this up."

In seconds, Jadzia rose to her feet, stood before him, and draped her arms around his neck, "You have no idea how long I've wanted to hear you say that."

"It's true."

She planted a warm kiss on his face, "I love you, too."

"You love me?"

"Yes, I have for a long time. And I want you, I have for a long time."

His hands lightly grazed her back, sending shivers through her, "Now?"

Dax giggled, "That's not what I *meant*, but nothing would make me happier "

Worf silenced her with a full, deep kiss. Her fingers fumbled at the zipper to his uniform and after their kiss ended, she let out a nervous and shaky breath over Worf's lips.

"Are you certain you want to do this?" He whispered.

"Yes, I am very certain. I want this more than anything."

"I should tell you, it has been awhile since I was with a woman "

"That's okay, I've got enough experience, with men *and* women, for both of us. You *do* remember how to do this, don't you?" she teased.

"Are you challenging me?"

She smiled, "And if I am?"

Worf was trying to contain himseilf, but he was losing the battle. With one swift, fluid motion he'd lifted her up in his arms. Worf handled her as if she weighed nothing, Jadzia knew he was strong, but she didn't realize how much so until she was being lifted up as if she were an infant. He carried her into her bedrom and gently let her down. She stood before him again. Dax removed her uniform, purposely moving slowly. Once she finally finished, he stared at her for a moment. This wasn't his first view of her naked body, but it was just as exciting as if it were.

Worf lifted his hand to touch her, but drew it back.

"It's okay," she said quietly, "I want you to touch me, and I want to touch you."

He was nervous, he was terrified. If he did something wrong, he could upset or offend her. Whatever happened tonight would be the deciding factor in whatever might grow between them. Dax could look at min and see the tension. This wasn't good. It might take a little work to get Worf to relax, but she had a feeling that once he did, he'd be unstoppable. Jadzia realized she'd have to make the first move, she began taking his uniform off. Feeling thier naked bodies press together was all the assurance Worf needed. Dax had been right, once he relaxed, he was unstoppable.

****

"So, you love me do you?"

"Yes."

"I see," Jadzia seductively slid her index fingertip over his chest muscles, "I guess that changes things for us."

"That and the fact that we just made love."

She smiled, "That too."

"This is not too fast for you, is it?"

"No, not at all. I've been dragging my feet long enough. I needed this."

"As did I."

Dax was lying atop him, she could feel his manhood stirring against her leg. *He'll have to wait until tomorrow*, she thought, *I'm exhausted*, "You know," she placed a gentle kiss on his nose, "You were wonderful."

Her candor made him uneasy, and he blushed, "Jadzia "

"It's okay, you know. There's nothing wrong with being complimented on your sexuality. I enjoyed you."

"You make it sound so simple."

She laughed, "It can be."

"Where does this leave us?" he asked her.

"Together," Dax said definitively.

"That is what you want?"

"Is it what you want?" she countered.

"I asked you first."

"Yes."

Worf hands got lost in the silky tumbles of her brown hair, "I feel the same way."

She kissed his lips, "Good. We should get some rest, it's late."

"You expect me to sleep after what just happened? I feel completely energized the last thing I want to do is sleep."

"What *do* you want to do?"

Worf responded by sliding his hands down her body and resting them on her posterior. He gave it a gentle squeeze and pulled her against him.

"Oh no," she said, "My body is *completely* worn out," Jadzia rolled over and of of him, "You're just too much man for me, Worf."

He propped himself up on his hands and looked down at her, "I am excited, you will have to forgive me. I have wanted you for so long, and now that you're here," he stroked her face with his fingers, "It is more than I imagined. I would listen to you go on about how miserable you were with Julian, and I longed just to hold you and make everything alright for you."

"Now you have me," she whispered.

"Yes. I swear, I am never going to do anything to lose you, I have wanted you for too long to let you go."

"I feel the same way."

Worf leaned down and kissed her. It was deep, and involved, and filled wih the love they shared for one another. As she kissed him, as she felt his strong arms encircle her body, she knew she was finally happy, she was finally at peace. This is the man that she loved, without a doubt.

"Worf," she whispered.

"Yes?"

"I'm not as tired as I thought I was."

He chuckled, "I thought you would change your mind."
