Well, it's been pretty hectic in Millardworld lately... so, I've finally decided that this site needs to expand to accommodate Rosie's awesome wonderfulness, and of course, her ever-burgeoning international fan club, and buddies at the Beeb. Those magic Millard moments just keep flooding in, and it wouldn't be fair to stick them all on one page and have people wait for ages to download the latest Millard... can you imagine it? People would probably go crazy in anticipation! So, this page has been created in an on-going effort to distribute the load of Millardpix in a download-friendly manner.
This whole site is a bit like an art gallery actually, where the works of art on display are all simply reflections of the living work of art that is the Millard herself! Like an art gallery, we have exhibits, and sometimes they'll be moving around, or maybe going into storage for a bit... but unlike most art galleries, the exhibits themselves will also be undergoing constant change.... improving... growing... changing.... evolving ... some might call it.... genetic engineering. Hmmm, that's not right... Look, what I'm trying to say is... I'm a bit of a tweaker, and I like to fine-tune the grammar and layout every now and again, just so that it gives optimum performance. The Latest MillardVintage Millard is now housed in the Archives >>>Reporting on Sightings of the King (22/1/1999)Here's Rosie looking quite fresh-faced and wonderful, despite being forced to stand outside Wembley Arena on a freezing cold January morning by the cruel heartless BBC! The article was about a bizarre Elvis concert in which a virtual Elvis performs ``live'' with his former band. The Millard spoke to an Elvis fan, and one of the concert organizers, though quite why she had to stand outside in the cold to do this, is a mystery!
But although weather conditions deprived us of seeing
The Legs on this particular occasion, this was almost made
up for when, in showing us a photo of the Elvis fan
meeting his idol in the '70s, Rosie revealed to us,
for the first time, her delightfully cute woollen gloves!
Groovin' away at the Pop Museum! (26/2/1999)
This was one of those rare gold-dust like occasions when the Millard went completely mad. Rosie spent the morning exploring Sheffield's new drum-shaped pop centre... Highlights included Rosie calling Martin Webb from Heaven 17 ``very funky'' using a Dalek voice, Rosie doing one of her inimitable (and very sexy) dances, and Rosie accompanying Mr. Webb in a karaoke rendition of the song Tainted Love.
Although sadly we cannot bring you Rosie's singing at this
stage (and perhaps she would prefer it if we didn't!),
there is this delightful snippet....
Ah Ha!!! (7/4/1999)Rosie sounded very poorly this morning, but she was nevertheless very animated in her approval of the new ABBA-based musical Mamma Mia, which she had seen the night before. After previously having expressed concern over the possible naffness of such a spectacle, she reported that it was actually a lot of fun, and that she'd had a great time joining in with the singing! She described the musical as ``not serious'' (in that the plot is immensely contrived to fit around old ABBA lyrics), but enthused that the availability of such frivolity only adds to the variety of theatreland.
P.S. Take it easy, and get well soon Rosie!
Rosie tracks down and interviews the Abominable Snowman! (16/4/1999)
Ok, it's not really the Abominable Snowman, it's
actually ace photographer David Bailey... but you gotta
admit, ``old'' Bailey is looking a bit
like the Sasquatch these days! Our ace reporter was
speaking to him about his new
retrospective exhibition at the Barbican, The Birth of the Cool... and in
keeping with the theme of `cool', La M was decked out in a
très chic baby-doll dress, complete with an
everso cute pink ribbon. Rrrrrrr.
Ginger Spice! (5/5/1999)Who's this, looking rather lost and confused? That's right! It's our Rosie making a cameo appearance in the epic Channel 4 documentary "Geri", charting the life and times of that other Ginger Spice! She's ubiquitous I tell you! Here we see the Millard about to set up shop in Sotheby's, prior to the auction of Ginger Spice's gear, last year. The guy in the foreground (see the full picture) is one of Geri's PR goons who's just been heard to frustratedly whine, "I can't have two BBC crews in the front row..." -- that's not just any BBC crew *foole*, that's Rosie Millard's crew! Yes, THE Rosie Millard!!! Now get out of the way and let her do her job! |
