Pegarah's
Bio Page

I was told I had to include some information about myself, so here it is.

My name is Lynne Hardy Macdonald Yzerman.
I was born in Colchester England in August 1966.

My family migrated to Brisbane Australia in December 1971.
I grew up at Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane,
Queensland, Australia.
I attended Clontarf Beach State Primary School,
and Clontarf Beach State High School.
I was an active member of the Clontarf Life Saving Club
and the Clontarf Swimming Club until 1981.
I started attending Brownies in 1975, going on to Guides in 1977,
where I completed my B.P. Award,
the highest award available to Guides at the time.

I moved to Canberra in December 1981.
I finished my schooling at Stirling College (Years 11 & 12) in 1983.
I continued with Guiding, becoming a Junior Leader
with 2nd Rivett Guides.
I later became a Leader with Chapman Guides,
Waramanga Brownies, and Rivett Brownies.
I helped to open one of the first composite Guiding Units
in Canberra in 1996.

In February of 1987 I married Fraser Macdonald,
this marriage ended in divorce in 2000.

I moved to Canada in March 1999.
I married William, in a beautiful garden ceremony, TWICE,
once on July 1st 2000, and again LEGALLY on 19th August.
We have three gorgeous children Joshua and Emily
from William's first marriage, and in October 2003
we welcomed our gorgeous baby son, Benjamin.
Four weeks early with one or two minor health concerns.
Now in January 2009, he is five, and in Senior Kindergarten,
he had a few problems adjusting to the class situation, but is loving school.

We live in a lovely small town on the Niagara Peninsula,
where my husband grew up.
Joshua has lived with us since June 1999 and is now in Year 12.
Emily decided to move back with her mother in September 2004,
but decided in July 2007 to move back with us, she is now in grade 9.

This photo was taken in November 1999.

This photo was taken in November 2002.

This photo was taken in November 2003 at Benjamin's christening.

My parents, Christine and Tony, still live in Canberra,
although they have been divorced for quite a few years,
they are still friends.

I grew up with a sister, Nicola,
and two brothers Kevin and Richard, all younger than me.
Nicola is now married to Kelvin and they have three gorgeous sons,
Aaron, Connor and Ethan.
My sister and her family visited me in Canada at Christmas 2004
One of my Christmas presents that year was being told
that Ethan was on the way.............. *SURPRISE!!!!!!*

Kevin married a Yank in 2002 and moved with her to the States in 2004.
Unfortunately things didn't work out and is now divorced. He was living in Las Vegas,
but in February 2007 decided to move back home.

Richard has one son William from a previous relationship,
and in February 2002 welcomed a second son Dominic,
with his then fiancee Belinda and her daughter Brittany.
Richard and Belinda were married in September 2003.
In November 2005 they welcomed another son Zachary.
In July 2007 they finally had their long awaited daughter Christina.
They recently announced they are expecting again.

I left some very near and dear friends behine when I moved to Canada.
These friendships however are still strong after 27 years.
I still dream about my first crush,
and seeing as that was over 30 years ago its pretty scary.
I doubt Mark would even know who I am.

I tend to be very protective of my friends, and they come second only to my family
I do not have very many close friends, so I tend to 'cultivate' the friendships I do have.
I care deeply about my friends, both my long time friends,
and the more recent ones I have developed.

My parents in law, Bill and Shirley
are two wonderful people that I adore.
They made me feel welcome from the start,
even when they were wary about this
'sheila from down under' that their son had fallen for.
William has one sister, Holly, who is five years younger than him.
She was married to Jeff, and has two children
Jeffrey and Chelsea, from that marriage.
In March 2002, Holly married Gerald.
They were expecting twins in July 2003.
Unfortunately it was discovered that one of the twins, Lucas
had Trisonomy18, and passed away at 30 weeks gestation
Two weeks later, Lucas, and his brother Logan were born at McMaster Hospital.
Logan is doing very well and like Ben is in Senior Kindergarten.
On 8 January 2009, they welcomed another son, Owen Lee.

I would love to be able to say that I have some high powered job,
but alas, I don't, that is unless you count being a housewife and mother.
Most of my day is spent doing housework or cooking for my family.
Having said that, in July 2007 I started a part time job
with the local Salvation Army Thrift Store, and I am loving it.
Except for the occassional customer (*waves to John*) who can be a bit trying.
Although I usually come home exhausted and with very sore feet.
I love to cook,
I also do ceramics, crafts, cross-stitch, crochet, knit, sew,
and design patterns for the above.

This is the most recent picture known to man or beast of me.
It was taken early January 2009. I am holding my latest nephew Owen.

I am very heavy into Science Fiction and Fantasy books and movies.
My favourite actor is Michael Ironside (in case you hadn't guessed),
although I can still go for Charlie Sheen and John Stamos.
And I think Vin Diesel has one of the sexiest voices on the planet.
I don't really have a favourite band or singer.
My musical tastes are rather eclectic,
and I will listen to just about anything.
I do favor rock and roll, and even disco (I can admit it!!!),
to some of the music around today.
I can't stand rap music, or some of the new wave stuff.

Favourite all time television series is V,
but I also love Red Dwarf and Star Trek
(the Original Series and The Next Generation most of all).
My favourite authors are Raymond E Feist and Anne McCaffrey.

I am a strong believer in individual rites.
I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I have been told that I am very opinionated,
which is probably true. I can be extremely stubborn.

I believe in extra terrestial life, I also believe in ghosts.
I am not a religious person,
although I do acknowledge the fact that there MAY be a God.

Anything else you may want to know, you will have to ask.
I can occassionally be found in Yahoo chat at nightime,
my chat name is........ surprise!!!! Its Pegarah!!!!!!
I have met some wonderful people in chat
including my RL husband Will.

Chat confirmed somethings that I have known for a while,
1. You can't please everybody.
2. Not everyone will like you.
3. Personalities WILL clash.
4. You don't have to have grown up with someone
for them to be your friend.

Oh, and in case you were wondering,
Pegarah is Australian Aboriginal for 'graceful swan',
hence the swans on the front page.
I doubt this term actually describes me, but some argue the point.
