A few pics of Star Trek that I have found. I have heard this series of Star Trek being referred to as Star Trek:The Original Series, Classic Star Trek, and various other names, to me, THIS will always be Star Trek. The various series that followed this one have their own names and should be referred to as such. Star Trek premiered in September 1966. After two seasons of poor ratings, the studio had considered cancelling the show. However, after a letter campaign, the series was renewed. The second time the series was threatened with cancellation nothing could be done, and the series ceased production in 1969, just three years after it started. The show was picked up by syndicated stations, and so Star Trek continued to live. There was a brief once season animated show of Star Trek in 1974. With renewed interest in science fiction in the mid 1970's, plans were started for a second Star Trek series. Star Trek:The Lost Series, as it is commonly referred to now, was plagued with problems virtually from day one. Thirteen episodes were written, one The Child was later used in Star Trek:The Next Generation. It was finally decided that the two-hour first episode would be released as a feature film. Star Trek:The Motion Picture was released in 1980. Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan followed in 1982. This movie sparked a huge "Trekker" outcry, when Captain Spock was killed at the end of the movie. When rumours of a new movie started circulating, there was a huge call for Spock to be 'resurrected'. Star Trek III:The Search for Spock in 1984. Star Trek IV:The Voyage Home in 1986. Star Trek V:The Final Frontier in 1989. Star Trek VI:The Undiscovered Country in 1991. Several members of the crew were also in Star Trek:Generations which was considered the 'crossover' movie between Star Trek, and Star Trek:The Next Generation.
